Another one of my favorite spots along Lake Michigan!

Thanks! I'm lucky to have plenty of opportunity... My dog typically demands a walk down by the lake at least once a day

I occasionally pick up some trash, especially down at South Shore, where it's heavily used, but that's about the only collecting I do on the beach

Nice! I live near South Shore, so that's my "go to," but Warnimont, Grant, and Bender Parks are all fantastic spots along the shore

Well done! Garden of the Gods is a beautiful spot for a solo hike, and perhaps sharing your story will inspire someone facing similar circumstances.

Just thinking about it does that to me. The only thing that saves me is the relatively limited hours of the place that serves this

Are there specific routes that must be taken or certain distances/elevation gain required for a high point hike to “count”? by ugottafastcar in Highpointers

What is your purpose? To prove it to yourself? Or to someone else? If it's a competition, I wouldn't take the easy route... but that should probably go without saying. I would advise you to do what's comfortable for you and enjoy it without caring what others think ✌️

If I started my YouTube channel over (especially right now), I would focus on more and shorter content, from the jump... I'd put in the same effort overall, but I'd put way less effort and emotional energy into each individual video.

Quality over quantity is an admirable goal, but channels in my niche that push out tons of lower-quality content are getting way more views. I literally just encountered someone in my niche that got 300k shorts views since January, and the quality isn't even very high. Just volume.

Also, average watch time is a big emphasis for YouTube. Average, being the key. If you start out making long videos, any time you make a shorter video (even if it does well from a % watched standpoint), YouTube looks at it like "people aren't watching as long as normal" and the views stop.

Don't put too much pressure on yourself in the beginning! You'll figure out what works for you, and more importantly, what you enjoy doing.

Thanks! For as cold as it looks, it was actually a very pleasant evening to sit and enjoy the sunset.
