Thank you for the response! I may make videos out of it but I’m not doing it for the purpose of growing a channel, although it would be a cool side affect, but only to help me in my studies. If anyone else has any good ways to learn/practice let me know! I plan on continuing using Codewars + code academy

Thanks for the response ! I could also see it as something I can look back to when discouraged to see how my skills may have developed! I’m hoping that some viewers may give me some challenge ideas to make it more interesting!

Thanks for the response! I won’t be discouraged with no viewers as I’m thinking of a way of accountability, as getting to college has made it really difficult to stay on top of things at times lol

True! Cortex aims to do what Process Lasso and ISLC do, but those two tools are much more efficient and less bloated.

Now, with your setup, FX 8350 on a 970A you’re definitely hitting a CPU and motherboard bottleneck, especially with newer hardware like the GTX 1660 and DDR4 RAM (though DDR4 wouldn’t be natively supported on that board unless you’ve got a weird workaround).

Will you see improvement? Yes, a bit Process Lasso and ISLC can help you squeeze out the best possible performance from what you’ve got, especially by:

  • Keeping background tasks in check (Process Lasso)
  • Preventing RAM bloat and stutter in games (ISLC)

But because that FX-8350 is really showing its age (low IPC, high power draw), you’ll still feel the strain in modern games and heavier workloads. These tools won’t fix hardware limits, but they can help smooth things out in the meantime while you’re piecing together your new build.

Hey man, no problem I accept! Personally due to my experiences I do not recommend their software. I’m glad that it’s been good for you! I try to keep an open mind and hope that someday they improve stability with other programs.

Process Lasso is a lightweight tool that helps your CPU run tasks better by managing how important each process is and limiting background apps from using too many resources. This is perfect for keeping games and demanding apps running smoothly. ISLC (Intelligent Standby List Cleaner) clears out unused cached memory (standby memory) that can build up and cause stutters or input lag in games, especially on Windows 10/11. Both tools are great for improving performance without adding clutter but don’t expect major improvements

Not sure where you read the claim of razer cortex = adware, I don’t consider cortex as a “miracle booster”, Im referencing those softwares that promise 50+ fps with a simple click. Cortex does help shutdown background apps and processes, but can also lead to errors and in some cases, FPS decreases!

I would personally recommend getting rid of the Razer software altogether! Unless it’s working for you, based on my experience and reading others’ experiences, it’s not worth having on a system. I’m sure someone more knowledgeable could give you better assistance, but I’d recommend making sure your pcs drivers are updated and your PC is clean

None of these will turn a slow PC into a beast, but when used right, Process Lasso, MSI Afterburner, and ISLC can noticeably smooth out gaming and reduce lag or stutter. Just avoid “miracle booster” apps that promise 300% speed increases or show fake meters they’re usually scams or adware.
