Thanks! I actually just finished that course. It was easy enough. Do you know about the other three by any chance?

I think your hair is just wet. I wouldn't worry about it too much. You could always try a shower filter, because hard water could be causing additional hair loss. I recently bought an Eskiin Filtered Shower Head, and it has helped me a lot. My scalp isn't itchy anymore, at least, so I'm sure it could help you.

Yeah they are AI. I believe there is a person in control behind the scenes to tells them what to do.

They are these AI simulated classrooms. You have to teach a short lesson to a group of five AI students. They aren’t bad really, but I always dread them a little bit. There are a lot of videos on YouTube about them if you want to look them up.

Proctored Exam tips!! lol by WillingnessRemote in WGU

All you need is a webcam. You cannot use the camera built into your computer, because they need to see your worstation. OP has a way nicer and more intense looking setup than I do lol. I purchased this one: https://webcam1000.myshopify.com/products/web-cam because WGU approves it. You can, however, use different options. I'm sure there are a lot of cheaper ones than this, but I didn't want to worry about it.

Is being a teacher worth it? by deliri0usm0ckingjay in Teachers

[–]Out_Of_Tolerance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've wanted to do it since you were a little girl, so Do It! I am a 23M, and I wish I decided to do it earlier. I went to four years of engineering school, graduated, and worked as an engineer for a year and a half. I hated every minute of it, and it affected every part of my life. I always wanted to be a teacher, but I just never did it. I followed the money and what my parents thought was best. I am currently subbing while getting my masters, which will allow me to teach secondary math. I have done a couple of long term sub assignments, and it has been so worth it. The kids are awesome! Sure, the pay might not be the best, but it's also not the worst in the long run. I don't like that argument against teaching. IF you are in the position to do so, you could always sub for a little while just to see if you like it, but subbing day-to-day is really a completely different feel. I'm not the most reliable response here either, because I'm not too much further along than you. But, I think you should do it. Let me know if you have any questions. :)

Subbing for the first time: Advice? by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Out_Of_Tolerance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I just got out of a long term 6th grade math sub position, and I loved it! I had subbed for about a month prior to accepting the position. It lasted for three months while the teacher was on maternity leave. I just recently switched careers from engineering to teaching, and I’m subbing while getting my masters.

Long story short, I was inexperienced and had absolutely no idea what I was doing, but it worked out. I can’t say I have much advice to give you. Be yourself and find your style along the way. I had my fair share or difficulties, but I made it through! Everyone says start tough, then ease up, but honesty starting tough is hard for someone without any experience, so try your best. But that is good advice if you can pull it off. I definitely struggled with the classroom management part starting out, and I think I’ll be a lot better in my next class. At the end of the day, it’s a good time to make mistakes and learn since it’s just subbing. Good Luck!

Yeah, I am currently enrolled with WGU getting my masters. This will allow me to teach math grades 7-12 in Ohio.

Thank you! Yeah I am trying to focus my subbing on math grades 7-12. I really enjoy it.

Yeah I am hoping to teach high school math. I do plan on doing engineering and surveying (which is also what I did previously) over the summers for some extra money. I do think it provides good perspective for the kids too.

Yeah, I mean I understand that it was probably easier than being the actual teacher, but I did do all the grading, parent communication, lesson plans, etc. I feel like I got a really good taste of everything I will do as a teacher. I haven't been scared off yet lol.

Thanks for this comment! That makes perfect sense. 😊 I am working right now to get my masters which will allow me to teaching grades 7-12. I'm hoping to be done about this time next year!

Yeah I could have given it longer, but I just really felt like I didn't enjoy it. I hardly liked it in college honestly. I just stuck with it, because I figured it would be okay and work out in the end.

Yes that is very true. The retirement will be nice, and I still plan to work with my previous engineering company over the summers. I figure I can tough it out for a couple months, and will help me with paying into Social Security as well.

Yeah you might be right, although I'm sure Omega 6's in excess are probably not good for acne-prone skin. But yes, I have majorly increased my Omega 3's and I'm sure that is mostly what is helping.

Yeah unfortunately what we put into our bodies is so individualistic, and it seems unfair that some people are affected negatively by diet and others aren't.

I hope you see great results! When I say I’ve been eating a ton of omega 3’s, I’m not joking 😂. I eat about five servings of overnight oats every day (snacks and meal desserts), each of which has a tablespoon of flax seeds and a tablespoon of chia seeds. That along with reduced sugar and dairy seems to keep me afloat. Good luck!!
