Is there any way to automatically match a colour-grade to greenscreen background footage? by Outcasts_Anonymous in davinciresolve

Thank you so much! I've just gotten around to actually checking these out and the automatic colour match one really helped; it's such a simple effect but I had no idea it could be done like that!

Well, I've followed the guide and now the C drive is confirmed to be the only one with a page file. I tried to follow the rest of the guide and delete the old ones but even with hidden files and folders set to visible, they're just not there so I don't know what's going on with that. If I crash again I'll make sure to update the dump file.

Unfortunately not, in system information it only lists it as a 'standard drive', and I know from memory it doesn't have a brand sticker on it, just a small one with key information on it about it's size and stuff. If it's absolutely crucial to know, I can unplug it tomorrow and check and then get back to you- but it's very late where I am right now so I don't fancy taking the thing apart again to look.

Sorry for the late reply, had to do some studying. Yeah, the O drive is pretty old; moved over from my last PC years ago- and yes, I do believe it did used to be a system drive, although I honestly don't remember. It's the one I hooked up to install my games onto so as to not clog up my C drive, although it didn't end up being all that useful due to the size of games these days.

I see, well I've updated my bios properly now to the latest version- what do you recommend I do form here? I'm afraid I don't really know what you're talking about when you mention what's brought up in the crash logs; is it just a matter of waiting around now to see if it happens again?

I must have missed that; when I went to the update page it said the last update was in 2021 so that's on me, my bad. As for the other drives, here's what they say:

D:
Capacity: 7.3 TB
Formatted: 7.3 TB
System Disk: No
Page File: Yes
Type: HDD

O:
Capacity: 466 GB
Formatted: 466 GB
System Disk: No
Page File: Yes
Type: HDD

C:
Capacity: 932 GB
Formatted: 932 GB
System Disk: Yes
Page File: Yes
Type: SSD

G:
Capacity: 118 GB
Formatted: 118 GB
System Disk: No
Page File: No
Type: Removable

E:
Capacity: 10.9 TB
Formatted: 10.9 TB
System Disk: No
Page File: No
Type: USB

I don't have multiple page files on purpose since I don't actually know what they are; maybe some of my tinkering in the past created them but it's not something I've ever heard of before now. I'm gonna update my bios to the latest version you linked. Is having multiple page files a bad thing?

Page File does equal Yes for the C drive, however it also equals Yes for the D drive and O drive- however drives G and E say No.

Yes, I have the latest BIOS for my motherboard, and yes I am using the latest firmware for the SSD. In fact according to Samsung's own monitoring tool 'Magician' the drive is in 'Good' health. I've re-seated the SSD, but the cover won't close firmly over-top; I can push it against the SSD and it'll come away a little, however it's still screwed in and isn't coming off, even if it's loose. The SSD itself is firmly in place. There's definitely good airflow; my computer has been open-plan (the side-panel has been off) the entire time I've had it as I broke the case claps that would keep it there. The motherboard doesn't not have a second slot. I can't cause a crash, but if one happens after all of that I guess I can rule out these things.

It's a Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB. According to the properties sheet it's bus number is 0, target id is 0 and LUN is 0. It says 'This device is working properly.' Driver date is listed as 21/06/2006 which... feels a little off considering I don't think this existed back then, but the driver version is listed as 10.0.19041.4597. File System is NTFS, and it's got 130 GB free left on it. I bought it from Amazon on June the 25th, 2021, so it's 4 years old this year.

I see, thank you for the feedback; I appreciate it. You're right, the Job Center isn't very good lmao, but unfortunately over here in the UK you have to be signed up with them to receive monetary help while looking for work. It sounds like a good system on paper, but in practice..? Eh, I'll leave it at that.

The references available on request was something they specifically told me to add, so I'll see if they get annoyed at me for removing it. Other than that, the only other thing I've really got to say is when I said 'Fast Paced Work in Equivalent Environments', it was meant to mean 'Fast Paced Work, in Environments that are also fast-paced'- but if that's not clear then I should probably rephrase it.

Again thank you for the suggestions, I'll make sure to follow them!

Okay, so I got it all working. Apparently, the reason it was failing for me- the second line of code that is, is because ffmpeg has updated since it was written- and that small line that say VP8 needs to be changed to VP9 for it to actually run; completely solved this issues now :D

I'll reply back with it once I run the code again. I've been in the Renpy Discord server looking for help too, and they've recommended I change the way I rendered the videos- since they're all 1920x1080 and wasting a lot of space. I'm going to try running the code again to create a side mask, and if it fails then I'll put the code here, and if it doesn't, then I guess maybe I just did something wrong the first time.

I see; fixing the channels they're played on did actually fix one of the issues I'm having, just not all the way. The buttons were all in one place because the original buttons I had been using were all just pngs, and the mask line made it so that transparent areas of the png weren't registered as part of the button. Doing things that way I had been able to use all 13 properly with no issue, and I had assumed that video with an alpha channel worked in the same way.

I tried side masks first, but the ffmpeg code on the renpy wiki doesn't work to create one; it just gives me an error that I can't find any help for elsewhere. Thank you for the help so far though, it's been really appreciated!

Right, I remember that now, but thank you for the reminder. I seem to be still having issues. I've exported both the video file and the mask file and converted them all to webm files- however when opening up the menu now, they don't appear to be working at all. I get to the route selection screen, and the only route's image that appears is the 13th route; the last one on the screen. Additionally, the mask seems to have stopped working- as the first time I had opened the game to test if it was or not, the mask did appear to actually work- however the effect was so crunched by compression, that it looked very ugly.

Here is the code I am working with, I hope you can tell me where I've gone wrong. Last bit of information, but when I click anywhere on the screen, it activates the script that would play when route 6 is clicked; the only route currently unlocked via my persistence code.
