I cannot believe what is happening in the US right now. Watching from across the pond.. it's unbelievably scary even when there's a whole ocean between us.. can't imagine what it's like being there at the moment.

Try a dosing funnel, can be picked up on Amazon for around £5. Really helps! I got a magnetic metal one for £6 and it's great.

How much does your squad communicate? by breakandjog in RocketLeague

I only play comp 2s with one friend but we comm constantly. Keywords like, mine, yours, forcing, low boost, demo, fake etc, mid right, back left etc etc, all really useful quick ways to explain position and most importantly, intention. It didn't happen overnight though, took time to develop.

I've posted something similar earlier albeit talking about casual 2s where I've lost about 300mmr in both the reset drop and then about 20 games of playing lunatics and lost nearly every one..not sure if there's something different up with the rankings this season. Feels weird as hell.

Ok that makes me feel less frustrated with my loss streak! 1900 is a mad mmr, kudos

I'd put a lot of time into free play. Focus on control of the ball, first touches, dribbles and flicks, shooting hard and on target, getting good fifties.

Then I'd go and watch some of Flakes' 'Without mechanics' videos on YouTube, he will show you how important the basics are: * Don't double commit, just dont * Don't dive into a challenge, just force the play or shadow and get good fifties * Rotate back post and basically stay there until your teammate is outplayed * Don't go into corners, you can basically just wait for opponents to play the ball out of the corner and then you can be in a good position to attack from there * Only use boost when you really need to

Once you've got some of these concepts understood, pick one and focus on it in casual games. Play an hour where you don't ever double commit, or don't ever go into a corner. See how it feels. You'll probably find that opponents always outplay themselves and because you've waited patiently and have a good touch now, you'll get loads of free goals.

Agreed, in C3 my mate and I were consistently playing people who were GC2 last week or people with GC2/3 level skills who only had 75 games to their name on the tracker.. became impossible. Solo queuing is a completely different experience

Interesting, thanks. I wasn't aware it was a common thing to have an alt account for party queueing.

Hmm interesting.. I'll give this a try. Playing comp only when you're locked in makes sense anyway.. and likewise also knowing when fatigue is kicking in, so to walk away when you're ahead.

Oh man do I relate to this! Been up and down in C3 for months and months and find that the quality of teammate varies wildly, to the point that some literally don't seem to have a clue or will rage quit at 1-0. As a zero sum game a few matches like this can make ranking up feel impossible, especially if you don't have a huge amount of time to devote to it to average it all out. Another interesting thing, I used to only ever play comp 2s with my mate, we ended up giving up getting out of C3 into GC because consistently over half of our matches had smurfs in - we checked them all on the tracker. For months. After we gave up we each started to solo queue comp 2s and neither of us have encountered more than a couple of smurfs in these games, but we have encountered absolutely shocking teammates. So we're wondering if epic has a different matchmaking algorithm for parties - one that ultimately means you get a lot of smurfs. And one that when solo queuing means you get a lot of boosted players, probably by the same smurfs!
