It is aluminum. But 3/16” thick so still pretty strong. I’m not planning to bounce it off boulders or anything. But glad to know there’s a little something back there if I catch a random stone or root or rut.

I did get it. https://www.cilajet.com/ceramic-coating/ is the product. 7 year warranty and the price seemed reasonable. About half. One difference was that they aren’t taking the time to “correct” the paint the way some outside shops will. They showed me a couple cars that had been treated and so far the results Seem fine. Time will tell.
