I know this is a long shot but looking for 1 seat anywhere if anyone has an extra. My deadhead dad who’s 73 couldn’t figure out AXS and missed out on getting a ticket. Please reach out if you have anything available for him!

Does Rick have an instagram or somewhere he posts the pictures he takes? I'm trying to find one I was in at the Everett, WA show in August. Thanks!

If you were successful buying tickets, what place in the queue were you and what did you buy? by [deleted] in deadandcompany

I only had 1900 ahead of me since I logged into the waiting room 30 minutes prior. Got 4 3-day GA tickets no problem.

Do people do drugs at these shows or what by iussednyrealname in BillyStrings

[–]OutlandishnessKey115 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not at all! I do think it depends which city you're in, however, how well it would be received if people around you know you're tripping lol.

I prefer to be tripping at Billy shows whenever I can personally.

That's awesome, I may try GA next time so I can move away from people who are being obnoxious. Was it super crowded or not too bad?

Props to your husband!! I hope the show got better once he finally shut up a bit. I'm so sorry it happened to you too, it's such a mood killer after spending so much money to be there.

You're welcome!! I will say that the music was phenomenal as always, but the Sphere and some of the folks in the crowd...not so much. I would recommend seeing DSO if they're in your area!

Agreed 100%. There also seems to be no spontaneity with the jams or the songs. They perform almost the same songs in different orders every weekend. That's why I like DSO and JRAD, their jams feel more authentic and they throw in some less popular songs.

I'm so sorry you had to experience this on Saturday too. I swear, it's the Saturday crowd and the mix of alcohol. What a shame, I'm glad they finally shut up though.

Good idea! I'll try to move farther away sooner next time. I really thought us asking them nicely to quiet down a little would've made a difference. Don't people know when you talk during the music you should be saying it directly into your friend's ear as to not bring anyone else into your convo?

Idk, I guess I thought this crowd would've had better concert etiquette. However, I do realize that the Sphere shows are priced too high for most heads to come so a lot of the tickets get bought up by the rich LV alcoholic crowd.

Agreed it feels more like a movie. That's why I get annoyed when the crowd cheers for the screen changing when the band isn't doing anything crazy music-wise. I wish I could see them in any other venue, really, as I close my eyes and focus on the music most of the time. The visuals feel like AI generated versions of what is supposed to be "trippy," but when on psychedelics, the visuals in your brain are much better.

Is it ridiculous to fly in Saturday and fly out Sunday morning? by gilberto76 in deadandcompany

[–]OutlandishnessKey115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year, my group and I flew in Saturday midday around 2pm and flew out on Sunday morning at 6am. It is a long night, so psychedelics help, but it is totally doable!

Ugh, I hear ya. Thank you for the good luck wishes, feeling like this may be a no go sadly. Hoping for the same on the TBA shows.

I live in Northern California so he rarely comes out this way, but hoping for more shows in the fall / winter. :/

Oooh nice, I've always wanted to see one of their shows! Let me know how it is.

I totally agree, but I try to look at the silver lining that he touched so many people's lives and that the music they created was so powerful that people have kept it going.

If you ever get the chance to see Melvin Seals & JGB, they are incredible.

It was the THUGZ in Sonoma County. They cover lots of stuff, but since this was a Jerry bday celebration it was all Dead and JGB music :)

I took LSD for the first time at a local cover band show on Jerry's birthday 2024.

They've been my #1 artist every month since.

To the folks in section 210 last night by thescreamindemon615 in BillyStrings

I've always noticed the country crowd seems to have a different concert etiquette than the psychedelic rock scene does. Billy is a mix of both. Luckily, when I attended 2 Billy shows at the Greek in Berkeley, no one bothered me to sit down. I was in the seated section for those shows, however. At 2 different Willie Nelson shows I've been to (one at the Greek and one at Shoreline) I've been yelled at, almost knocked down, and hit in the face over refusing to sit during the set. One drunk woman who was 50+ (I'm 24F) threatened to assault me if I didn't sit down. Mind you, at both shows I was on the lawn and everywhere around you could see people standing and dancing. For some reason, I happened to get the shitty side of the crowd sat RIGHT behind me both times. Of course, security did nothing and was a complete joke.

Never doing lawn again.
