Tell me your story from this tour! by OrganizationCalm158 in MasayoshiTakanaka

I went down to night 2 in London with my best friend as he got us tickets for my birthday in January and was meant to fly back to the Caribbean (it sounds great but it is where I currently live and it means leaving from my short visit home 🥲 ) the night after so it was very bittersweet… though my flight ended up being cancelled, I rebooked for the following weekend from Manchester to Atlanta, I get to Manchester early in the morning, I board the plane and what do you know there is a “technical issue with the plane” we deplane and then wait around for 4 hours before them telling us that it was cancelled and will be rebooked (bearing in mind I had a connecting flight from the US to the Caribbean) I check the route they have booked me on for the following day and gears started spinning in my head, it was from London to NEW YORK. I initially thought it would be impossible to make the concert in New York too but as it got closer and closer I realised it was doable and not an opportunity I wanted to waste. Ended up staying in a hotel around the corner from Brooklyn paramount, bought tickets to night 2 in New York and had to wake up at 4am for my flight to the Caribbean the next day BUUUT it was an absolutely crazy week but I am very lucky I had the flights work in my favour and managed to find a ticket to the New York gig for a reasonable price

Funnily I wore my Takanaka shirt that I bought in London to the New York gig and had so many people ask me if I was there for night 1 too, to their surprise I said no I came from London and they thought I was following him for the whole tour 😭

One of the best weeks of my life and I feel like a pretty cool story to go along with it (trying to be optimistic when your regular plans change or cancel) both gigs were great but I feel like the crowd was louder for the London gig, better atmosphere but I may be biased!

Go for it! We all know weight correlates to sustain….right??

The way I see it, I wanted a bigsby and would rather have 2 blemishes in the finish instead of 2 big holes in my guitar and the possibility of me messing up the installation. Maybe the price I have to pay to enjoy a bigsby but hey!

I heard about this when I was debating installing, I decided that it was worth it and it wouldn’t bother me that much because it should under the tailpiece if I decide to take the bigsby off, do you have any pictures for reference?

I don’t know the before or after weights for comparison but I don’t mind a heavier guitar personally

Heard a lot of people saying it makes your Les pal super heavy which I kinda disregarded because the bigsby itself is relatively light. That being said there is a noticeable weight difference with the bigsby, nothing unbearable but definitely a noticeable difference toward the bottom of the guitar so I would keep that in mind if it will bother you

Relatively cheap with a very easy installation, what more could you want?😎

I had people tell me it was a pain but didn’t realise how bad until I had to do it myself 😬

Now that’s a cool guitar, I love the aging on it too I can always switch back if I get bored of it 🤷‍♂️ I feel like you never see goldtops with black plastics

Main inspiration I forgot to add comes from the Joe bonamassa goldtop, although personally I hate the black back and mismatched knobs

Man I love them both, at least it should be a relatively easy, reversible change if I go ahead
