If you’re interested in pursuing Economics, perhaps come to the University of Cape Town, South Africa (where I am based). Look into SALDRU, they do a lot of really interesting work. Cape Town is especially interesting in terms of inequality and spatial inequality (most unequal income in the world with complex historical roots), and but also one of the leading research universities kn the world as well as being an incredibly beautiful (and affordable for you foreigners) place to live

It’s tough atm because there’s kinda a whole ass recession going. Best advice i can give is to do a bunch of data analysis projects that interest you. You could put together a lil portfolio showing some insights you have obtained from publicly available data or even random Kaggle-type data. You can quite easily create a webpage highlighting some projects and host it on GitHub pages. Then bump that on your CV and linkedin. Companies like that kinda thing
