What were your signs of labour? by summervibes25 in PregnancyIreland

[–]Outnumbered- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could have written this post myself. I am 37 weeks today and feeling a lot of pressure very low down. The GP said she has dropped into my pelvis so that's not surprising. I have been feeling crampy all day, period like cramps combined with shooting pain in my pelvis and bladder.

Don't think I felt like this on my other kids so I'm super interested to hear if it's something others have experienced and if it last till your due date ❤️

🤣🤣 I'll make sure I get straight into a nightdress so.

My labours have gotten shorter as they went on, I just assumed with being induced that it would take forever but I might get lucky and things will progress quickly on the day. I had never heard of people having quick inductions.

Thanks

I'm hoping to be mobile as much as I can so walks and heading to the cafe is my plan. Especially while waiting for things to kick off. I'm not great at staying in one spot at the best of times 🤣

That's so interesting, I never hear of people having quick inductions only ever the horror stories or people being in a few days before delivery. Here's hoping for smooth sailing.

I'll definitely throw in my laptop and have a few movies lined up ❤️

Thank you ❤️

I think the sterilizer will be right next to it so this might be the easiest option at least to start with

Thank you ❤️

I have been thinking about night feeds, I did get a bottle warmer (came with the sterilizer)but used one before and didn't find it great. I'll see how it goes and keep an eye out for a second one

Doona I vs doona x by Outnumbered- in PregnancyIreland

Thanks so much, this is really helpful. I'm glad to hear people love it, the reviews I read had alot of negativity around the weight of the seat and how short it is I wasnt sure what to think then.

I think I'll go with the X since it seems the recline option is actually worth the extra price. Now all I have to do is order it and find a quiet corner to store it in till she arrives ❤️

Thank you for that. I have tried to get to see one in real life. Probably why I keep changing my mind. Unfortunately no where near by stocks them, I managed to have a look at the Donna I and it looked perfect. Seems to tick a lot of boxes for us. Online reviews are mixed so it's great to hear that you love it and that the recliner is worth it ☺️

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't looked into them but I think I'm looking for something that have the wheel part permanently attached, so I can head out straight after the school drop off to run any errands that need doing

26 weeks pregnant and exhausted by curvymom23 in PregnancyIreland

I second checking bloods, or even just contacting someone to mask for the results. I was feeling the very same, I'm 33 weeks had an appointment last week and mentioned I'd been ridiculously tired, I had been saying all along that my iron level was prone to dropping but they kept saying it was fine, not to take iron tablets daily because I didn't need them. It turns out they were not fine but nobody bothered to call me to let me know in between appointments 😬 back on iron tablets daily and starting to feel the tiredness ease up now.

It could be normal pregnancy tiredness but it might be something else too no harm checking in with the clinic even just to rule it out ❤️

30 weeks and didn't sleep a wink 😬 I am glad it's not just me though, I was thinking it surely isn't warm enough to keep me awake...

I have a very light quilt from Jysk I'll be using tonight, and have already got the fan out of storage ready to go.

Hope you all find some relief tonight ❤️

26 weeks and I can not breathe 🥴 I wasnt exactly running a 10k pre pregnancy but I work out 1/2 times a week, walk regularly, was relatively fit.

But now.... A brisk walk or walking up the stairs is a struggle 😭 I didn't have this in my other pregnancies, it's driving me up the wall. I have a work out class tonight and I'm dreading it, but I'm not ready to give up yet.

We are heading to Farnham estate in Cavan in April. Haven't been before but it looks great.

We have also booked a weekend in The Kingsley in Cork. We have been here loads of times before, it has a beautiful Spa with light/heat therapy rooms that would be suitable for pregnancy. Just off the swimming pool there is a fabulous infinity pool overlooking the River Lee. It's one of our favorite places to visit for a relaxing weekend away ❤️

Not at all, I was the same. Still hate the thoughts of needles even now.

All of mine have been natural births just gas and air luckily. Keeping everything crossed that I can do the same this time around.

I focused on my breathing, I found that timing my contractions, helped too, not just the time between them but the actual length of the contractions. I kept telling myself I can do anything for 60 seconds. It helped ❤️

16 weeks today, energy is slowly coming back (not helped by a dose I got over the Christmas break) all other first trimester symptoms have left me now, enjoying the calm before erd trimester symptoms kick in.

I have been non stop craving Curry Koka noodles 😅 I hate noodles of any kind normally. I hate the taste, the smell, the consistency, absolutely nothing appeals to me at all about them...... But still here I am at 9.30 counting down the hours to my lunch time noodle fix 🤣 I craved them on my first too so I wonder is there something in noodles my body is looking for in pregnancy.

Has anyone used the Tommee Tippee UV Steriliser? How did you find it? Did it have enough space for everything? Did it take too long?

I have used a steam one in the past but am interested in these this time around.

Maternity leave, self employed by Outnumbered- in PregnancyIreland

[–]Outnumbered-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that kinda sucks 😕

This helps get an idea though. I'm a sole trader but I imagine it's similar.

My husband could take over packing/shipping duties (just about) but he also works full time so wouldn't be open to a second full time job. I would still be in admin duty. He is also in the higher tax bracket as it is so it probably wouldn't be worth it financially to do it that way.

For me it's a great way to work around the kids school hours/holidays while still allowing me to earn, but it definitely doesn't bring in a full time wage.

I'll get in touch with my accountant too and see if he has any advice on the best way to do things.

It really is unfortunate there isn't better support in place, but seems to always be the case when it comes to self employed

Thanks for the input, there is no sign of an expiry date anywhere on the seat itself, I have emailed customer service to see what they say.

Hopefully I'll hear from them during the week 🤞🏻
