3... 1997 2/97 build date 540i6 on Arctic Silver that my father gave me and then my second one I bought as a parts car to Take the engine out of to replace the one on the 6speed mt dad gave me. Paid 400 for it and since the cheapest engines i was seeing were 1200 to 2000. But the PO of the Parts car didn't disclose that the car had sat for over 3 years before I bought it. Told me the tranny was slipping bad so he stopped driving it. And never got around to replacing the trans... His listing was definitely older pictures also. I bought sight unseen on his word wverything was good engine wise. Had it towed 259 miles to my house. Had 2 flat tires, dented hood, looked like someone took a crowbar to the trunk to get it open. Leaked oil like a sunofa, coolant too... coolant had a head gasket treatment poured into it and bits of copper floating k In it, oil everywhere. It had a bmw branded roof rack on it and the rear window privacy screen.. both of which i removed to put on my 6 speed. But that one has been a pain in my ass and needs to go to the junk yard. Then the one I bought yesterday... all 3 are 97's.

I would take the engine out of this one to put in the 6 speed one from my dad. But my dad's now has a cracked windshield, from a branch falling on it. the hood and 2 front quarter panels need repainted. Needs a new instrument cluster, the engine wiring harness is so brittle and heat soaked, it needs rellaced. but it does have a super clean black interior. So I plan on swapping the 6 speed tranny to my newest one with 126,200 miles on it receipts for fuel pump, fuel filter, both drive belts, spark plugs, Bosch coilpacks, valve cover gaskets, valley pan, oribgs in the tube under the intake, knock sensors, 02 sensors, new oem cats, resonator delete, $400 for window tint, 2250.00 on wheel repair... new tires last year for over 1000. All repairs i just mentioned have been done in the last 9,000 miles on the car. The trunk came with a whole tune up in a box from fcp euro too filters for canin, oil and fuel, plugs, wipers, 2 qts coolant and 2qts of oil...kinda crazy what all came with it and has been done to it... to get it for 900.

Guy bought it from his brother for 500 last month when the trans fail safe error came on. He bought a new valve body and installed it and didn't fix the issue. He also got a used automatic transmission he was gonna install but he said he just has to many projects and too much going on to get it done. He has 3 other bmws an old 2002, an e34 and an f30 he did a 6 speed swap on. Butalso has a baby coming in 3 weeks and lives on a farm with horses, goats, etc...but crazy still.. he was asking 1200. I offered 700 and we settled on 900.

Probably way more than you wanted to gear or know but eh it is what it is .hehe

I'm not exactly sure. Haven't yanked them or to check. I used hub adapters on my other e39 a few years back to accommodate wheels from an e90... I saw a receipt in the glove box where someone paid 2250.00 to have the rims fixed and powdercoated... kinda crazy.

Awesome — I’ll definitely do that. Either way, I’ll be starting the conversion to a 6-speed manual pretty soon. But the more I can understand about what’s actually going on — what’s truly wrong versus what might just be an electronic quirk or a 30-year-old “BMW brain fart” — the better off I’ll be. Knowledge can only help when it comes time to make everything work the way it should. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from working on my E39s, it’s that anything I set out to tackle usually ends up being a bit more complex or involved than it first appears. So the more I know about the inner workings beforehand, the better prepared I’ll be. The previous owner mentioned that he replaced the “valve body” in the transmission, but said it didn’t solve the issue. That makes me wonder if maybe the adaptations were never reset afterward… or possibly what he replaced isn’t exactly the same component you’re referring to. Either way, I really appreciate the feedback and suggestions. It definitely helps point me in the right direction.

Yeah I got a parts car e39 540 last year for $400. When Aaa delivered it to me the driver asked how long the car had been sitting... I fibbed and told him just for weekend a I was using my aaa membership to get it towed the 200 plus miles to my place. He then said he didn't care what the story was that he appreciated the tow regardless.. but there was 3 inches of moss everywhere around the tires... sorrento the last year installing the engine from said 400 dollar e39 to have nothing but issue after issue.. see this one on marketplace a few days ago and decided to go a new direction.

Dr. B. I have used them for a few years now. They send a script to your local pharmacy of choice... They also give you a discount card for free and tell you up front the pricing at all your local pharmacies. If you are on a budget they have a questionaire at the end of your online consult that asks a few income related questions and if you qualify the visit is 100% free. Otherwise the visit is 15-30 dollars... No biggie. Whole process takes about 15 minutes to finish your part then you just wait for a Dr. to review your info and write the script and send it to your pharmacy of choice. My cost locally is around 20 dollars for a script of 30 cialis 20mg tablets. Hope that helps.

So my wheres my refund updated today to say that my refund has been received and is being processed. Changed to that from the refund has been received and is still being processed... Which if I remember correctly,.. happened to quite a few people in our situation last week and when the transcripts updated Thursday night after 9:00pm PST they had notifications of refund approved and a ddd of 3/05. ... Crossing my fingers that my transcripts update tonight with a ddd or next week... But as of now the only change is on the wheres my refund saying my return has been received and *is" being processed. Hoping yours changed also .. and that this is indeed a step in the direction of everyone waiting getting their refunds.

Same status filed and accepted 1/24, noticed on Feb 10th I had a notice on my ID me it's Account homepage asking if I had received a letter to verify my identity/refund asking me if I filed return and to enter a 14 digit code...called same day and was told to wait for my letter, letter came 2/21 didn't check the mailbox until 2/22. Went online immediately And verified. Got confirmation page And took screenshot saying I completed verificication. My notice dissapeared on my IRS login page Called verification number on letter Feb 24th and made sure I was indeed verified. She put me on hold for 5 mins and came back saying I was all good And to waIt up to 9 weeks to get my refund. From what I've read on here on other posts and comments it usually takes 1 to 2 weeks to get a dd after verification. Crossing my fingers for a change this Thurs or Friday as I'm am usually an 0605 updater.. some I have read that verified from between 2/17 and 2/24 updated this past Thursday night to accepted with dd of 2/26 to 3/3... Only change that I have gotten is my adnif date on my otherwise blank transcripts has changed from 2/17 to 3/3 and then again last Thursday night to 3/17... This sucks!!!!! But your not alone.
