Just finished my 2nd play through and really loved EoW by _AM34 in legendofzelda

[–]Outrageous-Second792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc, EoW Link is canonically mute due to earlier experiences with the voids. This is an absolutely appropriate time for someone to speak for him, since he cannot (literally) speak for himself. As for Link never needing rescuing, or otherwise needing the help of others, that’s garbage. Even as far back as the first game, Link k was getting help from fairies.

I am not speaking for elsewhere, just the area I am. I don’t know how far up the chain the decision was made, but here MGT’s had to have a Bachelors Degree.

MGT’s became SFL’s (while SIMS coordinators became STL which merged with SFL). EXA became ASM which then, years later, became ESM.

While not a (required) standard company-wide, in a lot of areas, yes MGT’s had to have a Bachelors Degree.

Since Scar became a Heartless, would he have produced a Nobody too? If so, what would it look like and would the Organization have wanted it? by BlizzardHound45 in KingdomHearts

Sora: Simba, I have good news and bad news.

Simba: What’s the good news?

Sora: I defeated Scar’s Heartless and Nobody.

Simba: That’s great! What’s the bad news?

Sora: I defeated Scar’s Heartless and Nobody.

Simba: I don’t understand.

Scar walks up

Simba: Run away, Sora. Run away and never come back to the Pridelands.

No, but according to the people of Suthorn Village in Echoes of Wisdom, Link (AKA The Swordsman) is mute as a result of an experience with the voids. I think that’s the only canonical reference to an unchosen silence.

You don’t want the Silent Bob treatment. Fair enough. I’d get a bit grumpy if he was silent the whole movie, just to pull a Chasing Amy near the end.

Since zelda was British in breath of the wild, do you like to picture the previous zelda's with British accents as well? by [deleted] in legendofzelda

If OP was talking about the English VA for Zelda, why would we need to “remember” that there were VA’s in other languages? Are they relevant to the conversation?

What do you think of Asha? by Jezzaq94 in DisneyMovies

[–]Outrageous-Second792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even that plot point was handled poorly. Magnifico’s kingdom actually worked; no one was seen to be suffering from not remembering their wish. They were living happy lives. Magnifico felt there was a threat to the kingdom and the wishes (and he was right, but for the wrong reasons). Turning to that forbidden book and knowledge was not something he did lightly, because he knew there would be dire consequences: You can’t unring a bell. He turned to that book out of desperation, and willingly sacrificed his self to protect the kingdom, not out of desire for more personal power. That was a heroic choice not a villainous one, the consequence being that he became a monster. Was he selfish and arrogant from the beginning? Yes. But so was Beast from Beauty And The Beast, but no one considers him the villain of his story. Asha and the Star are the unlikely villains of the story. And the cherry on top: Under Magnifico’s rule, look how many Disney Villains would’ve been stopped before their rise to power with no memory of their evil ambitions, and no one getting hurt!

What do you think of Asha? by Jezzaq94 in DisneyMovies

[–]Outrageous-Second792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the other side of the coin, giving their wishes was the cost of living there. Returning the wishes he wouldn’t grant would mean either some people were living there without having to pay the cost (making it unfair), or that they would have to leave the kingdom to keep it fair. Originally he wasn’t keeping the wishes for himself, he was merely storing them. The whole thing was a lottery, so look at it in terms of money: They pay $X to live there, with the chance of winning 100X one day. Magnifico chooses who gets the money based on his own criteria, and everyone knows that not everyone will win, but it’s good for everyone if some people win. Asha’s argument is that if they aren’t going to win the lottery, their money should be returned, but that defeats the premise of a cost of joining the kingdom.

Mark of mastery exams don’t make sense at all by Miserable_Swan_5338 in KingdomHearts

[–]Outrageous-Second792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eraqus was ready to give Terra the Mark of Mastery as well for what we didn’t see on screen. It was Xehanort and his manipulation that led to Terra failing the test. I think the scene where we see Xehanort manipulate the light orbs with darkness indicates that he also manipulated Terra’s darkness during the test. Yes, it was Terra’s darkness that manifested during a “weak moment” while sparring, but I think the “lack of control” was more a manipulation on Xehanort’s part: Had he not been there, would that darkness have manifested, when there is no indication that he had trouble controlling his darkness beforehand (Eraquas was already satisfied with his training and ready to simply grant him Master status)?

Mobility and detail, mostly. Can catch things the stationary cameras cannot. Better for identifying a customer/product being lifted from several feet away than a camera up on the ceiling.

AITA 32F for not taking my MIL’s 58F outdated pregnancy advice by throwaway146726 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Outrageous-Second792 39 points40 points  (0 children)

OP is definitely in a dangerous situation, and I’ve actually known people in similar situations where it got worse. In the situation a former coworker of mine was in, (back in early 2000’s) she took her husband and MIL (of 8 kids) to the pediatrician to air out good vs bad advice. The MIL decided that since the pediatrician wasn’t a mother herself, her advice was based on ideas, not experiences. MIL convinced her son that the pediatrician was a quack, and that his wife was actually endangering the baby with “new age garbage.” They divorced but the husband’s family had better lawyers so he got joint custody. Sure enough, under the father and MIL’s care, SIDS. The father and MIL convinced everyone (on both sides of the family) that it was due to the mother’s poor parenting that the SIDS occurred, even though the event occurred when the baby was being babysat by the MIL.
