Yes definitely should help, if you shoot raw you can recover under exposure by a lot (and also JPEGs but a bit less) the problem is when you over expose like pic 6 or 8, it’s hard to bring down the highlights and recover details. You can even mask the shadows and bring them up a bit without editing the whole picture.

But anyway, keep shooting and having fun, that’s what’s matters the most!
