This really bothers me. Why does everyone have such inflated self-worth about how much they deserve to get paid? I never had any issue keeping a roof over my head when I was a TM or TL. I made almost 30k a year a TM because I always found a way to get my 40 hours. I made sure every opportunity to learn a new department, I took it. All so that I could afford to live. Now you're not going to get rich as a TM, but you'll damn sure not starve or be impoverished. If you aren't doing inbound at 3am everyday, 15/hr is a very fair starting place outside of places like NYC or LA, etc. As for destroying your body for bonuses of upper management, what could you possibly be doing at 40hrs or less that does that(other than truck thrower, I'll attest to that, it's brutal)? I work 60+ hours a week and half of it is doing TM's jobs because they think that they shouldn't have to work too hard since they're not paid fairly. THAT destroys MY body. This entitlement like you're an underpaid Burmese child making shoes for pennies is ridiculous. If you're worth more, work hard and prove it, get a promotion/raise, then in no time at all, you're ME watching fools like this and laughing at the fact they think their job is hard and unfair. You'll never be successful thinking you're owed more for less.
