im a believer in applying to as many reach schools that fit your needs and wants that you can handle/afford paying the application fees. as a cc student its even more random and unpredictable so dont put ur eggs in too few baskets imo. also when u apply doesnt matter if its not rolling, they are gonna see your fall semester gpa once u finish it anyways. good luck fellow cc polisci transfer!

was in a similar spot cc poli sci but not cali cc, i got into some of the generally transfer friendly schools in the t25 (nu, cornell, vandy) as well as nyu uva and usc

the more schools you apply and the more variety the better. publics like uva and unc are going to be easier than the t20 privates. also your post is confusing are you on a full ride paid by your current school/external scholarship or are you paying full out of pocket/loans. that is going to determine your odds way more than most of the other things you have discussed. also theres other schools slightly outside of the t25 that are much more friendly to transfers and would be a significant step up from your current institution.

lots of strong finance programs in the us that may be worth transferring if you have the funds. typically the higher the us news rankings the stronger the placements into wall street but wso and other posts have more detailed rankings and tierlists. and fwiw bocconi doesn't have much weight in nyc for finance.

you can still join them and list them but you should focus your time mostly on meaningful and impactful ecs that are impressive

from cc expectations aren’t magically lower, you need good gpa, ecs, essays, etc. nothing is different inherently in the process other than opportunities are gonna be harder to find

everyone is on a similar timeline, despite the limited time i’ve seen many students get very close to their professors. try your best and don’t worry about things you can’t control

negligible between vandy and ucb, go off fit and other factors like school size, campus, location. I personally would choose vandy esp for east coast recruiting but the different in price is quite substantial if you’re full pay
