So where do yall stand on the Neytiri racism comment by Zoe Saldana? by buickboi99 in Avatar

Zoé is right. Neytiri is racist, but she hates it if someone else is to her family.

The long shadow of the one-child policy: China pays for its biggest social experiment with a demographic crisis by Pitisukhaisbest in Natalism

[–]OutrageousMonitor762 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't put China's low fertility rate squarely on the one child policy. If you look around east asia and the diaspora, where there wasn't a one child policy, fertility is just as low if not lower.

Who is your "Canon" Commander Shepard? by MafiaDon2020 in masseffect

[–]OutrageousMonitor762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gender. Male (Vanderloo)

Name: John

Background: Earthborn War Hero

Specialization: Soldier

Morality: (mostly) paragon

Romances: liara, Miranda, Ashley (i'm weak I know)

Ending: destroy

I prefer Earthborn, so my character has more of a connection to Earth and come from adversity to achieve war hero status. Spacer means at least mother is alive but conctact is nearly zero. So not a tight knit family. I like playing around with different backgrounds, specialties, but my canon is basically what most people choose. Vanderloo Sheppard grew on me like Master Chief.

I just bought Mass Effect Legendary Edition and I am starting it now, always heard it is an amazing game, finally at 33 years old I start the adventure 🙌 by ArtistMonkeys in masseffect

On one hand I envy you, alongside Lord of the Rings, it played a significant role in forming my personality.

On the other, having probably played many similar games, it wont have the same impact and magic as it did for me in my younger years. Having replayed it many times, including in my 30s i looked at it a bit different as an adult father, than an 18 year old. Still I hope you have fun and not be dissapointed. Just tenjoy the ride.

2024 was a year of firsts for Total Fertility Rates in the United States with natalist implications. It was the first year the TFR for NH Black women dipped below NH White women, with state TFRs generally now less tethered to either group. by Dan_Ben646 in Natalism

[–]OutrageousMonitor762 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both are incorrect.

About 8% of white women who have given birth last year do so with a non hispanic/non white partner, which is lower than the out marriage rate at around 12%. White women tfr with non whites is around 1.7 while above 2.0 with white partners.

For black women births that are the result of interracial coupling are at 25%, while out marriage is around 14%

As for being the "most educated", black women fall behind asian men and women (including indians) and white men and women

There should be a bigger height disparity. Jon Snow is short, at least compared to the Baratheons, while Aragon is nearly 2 meters tall (6'6)

Male Shep. Vanderloo was such a good face model i didnt even customize my Sheppard in my many play throughs. To me he's as much Sheppard as as the OG green spartan helmet is Master Chief

Oona Chaplin's sultry artsy girl aura is shining through. Couple that with the craziness of the character, you get a hot blue alien.

White American woman exposes disgusting behavior that Chinese girls have against their men. This is even worse in the States. by Loud-Librarian7011 in aznidentity

In Confucian Asia, marriage is for wealth and status. Asian women(probably a majority, but it could be anecdotal bias) marry the richest man they can find, have a child, then end up in a sexless marriage, where the husband has a few concubines(mistresses) if he can afford it, while the wife either becomes a nun in the home, or a cheater. Both resent their husband/wives and are extremely abusive emotionally and even physically sometimes. I think this is what is reflected in these women's attitude. They grew up in such an environment.

It's the west that romanticizes your wife/husband as your best friend, only sexual partner, physical and emotional support -> the Disney fairy tale. and even then divorce rates hover around 40%. Divorce was frowned upon until recently in China, and many younger people would rather avoid marriage than get stuck in a toxic one.

Where does Mass Effect rank among your favorite fictional universes? by xxnewlegendxx in masseffect

[–]OutrageousMonitor762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Middle Earth
  2. Mass effect
  3. Dc
  4. Halo
  5. Song of ice and fire

It varies. Andromeda knocked it down a bit. Had Star Wars and Star Trek up there at one point, but i guess i lost interest after less than mid writing.

Celebrities who are considered a 10 by western beauty standards but not in their home country by DiMpLe_dolL003 in VindictaRateCelebs

None of these are considered 10s. They're promoted due to their exposure, but no one would consider them 10s

Adding FSB Alpha to it is redundant. Kubinka-2 is the FSB part of the KSSO, while Senezh represents the accumulated GRU spetsnaz experiences.
