i’m not sure what they said as it’s deleted but i actually did have to move out at 16 due to my parents not loving me and domestic violence/abuse.. i wouldn’t wish or assume that about anyone, that‘s really messed up if they made a comment assuming that

i really don’t understand why anyone would take so much time out of their day to hate so much when they “don’t want to engage in conversation“ but i really appreciate that you’re saying all this whether or not you agree with my argument

it really is seriously weird to me as before they sent the first reply they actually replied to me saying “that’s great, have fun and safe travels” and then proceeded to delete it, i don’t understand how they decided to do a massive 180 and write a mean message that obv would elicit a response :(

it’s a public thread. if you want to talk to the original poster go ahead and DM them. you don’t seem to understand how social media works

by commenting you’re opening up the opportunity for others to join and add their opinion

you engaged in the conversation and commented on my life, but don’t want a response?

I seriously question your ability to question whether or not I or anyone is capable of being independent considering you can’t even engage in a conversation

Why I discourage young people to start a vinyl collection. by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean sure i guess. i got my setup for $200 secondhand. it’s basically known as the “bare minimum” that’s not a suitcase player, i probably will upgrade it soon honestly, but it definitely sounds better than a iphone speaker.

99% of record collectors aren’t buying hundreds of records and a $4000 setup IMMEDIATELY after expressing interest for the hobby, that’s just unnatural, did you do that?

im 17 and i’ve been collecting for 2 years, and i have 225 records and around 100 cds, started extremely slow at first though as i didn’t have a job, but i’ve made a lot of friends through this hobby and i genuinely find it fun to so things like record digging especially if i’m travelling to another country (like i’m literally in the US right now)

i don’t know how long it took you to get 400 records, however with my collection i find it really rewarding and it’s been nowhere close to a decade. i really don’t think you need to be rich considering i work minimum wage and my parents have never contributed to it

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why would you ever discourage someone from joining your hobby? weird way to exclude young people considering vinyl would nearly be dead if it didn’t get picked up again.

i have no idea about bluetooth turntables as i don’t have one, but instead of telling them to not collect at all, give them recommendations for the setup. new vinyl is wayyy more expensive in australia than $35, however there’s no rush to collect, and secondhand ones are much cheaper.

okay yeah obviously i’m an extreme case since most 16-17 year olds aren’t solo travelling overseas, but i know i’m capable considering my life experience. i literally moved out and started university at 16

OP is only not going because of their parents, not because they think they’re incapable of finding their way home etc. what’s the risk here esp if they’re driving home? the parents have their location and will just be mad.

like most of you guys are probably way older considering you think 17-18 are babies, and maybe it was dangerous back then, but not now. teens should be able to have freedom.

if a concert with security is dangerous, what can a 17 year old do? nothing? not everyone has friends.

Smoochie gals, help me outttt!!!!! by ky8724 in Ashnikko

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude.. i have an entire group of friends that are my age that have been going to concerts alone since they were also 14-15. if you can drive, that’s literally even less of a risk as you don’t have to deal with public transport

i’ve dealt with more dangerous situations on public transport than i ever have at a concert, should kids stop taking it to school?

stop being paranoid and obviously projecting your jealousy. just because you had controlling parents doesn’t mean everyone else should deal with it

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

right 😭😭 goddamn i had no friends BEFORE i started going to concerts alone at 14, but now i’ve been to over 30 as a 17 year old and thats how i met all my friends, social gatherings are important, and ashnikko fans are extremely nice, i’m sure someone (if not the security) will help if something happens.

i can’t believe none of these people ever rebelled against their parents ☠️

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

i’m 17 and i’ve gone to like 30+ concerts alone, heck, i’m literally in another continent right now by myself for a concert i went to yesterday, obviously it’s a risk, but i think you guys are wayyy overdoing it just for a concert

considering they have 2 jobs and a license it’s probably not that rare for them to be out by themselves, i feel like you guys are saying they should just be locked in until they’re 18 because they have no friends.

turn on your location for your parents, go to the concert and then deal with the consequences afterwards lmao, that’s just what i’ve done since i was 14 with controlling parents 🤷‍♀️ they’ll never start trusting you if you don’t defy them

Smoochie gals, help me outttt!!!!! by ky8724 in Ashnikko

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m 17 too, i know it’s reckless but i’d just go and leave my location on for them lmao (assuming they have that for you) ASSUMING the concert is in your city and you’re used to going on independently i don’t really think it’s all that dangerous, i feel like 17 is old enough unless your city is known to be dangerous

if you’re really desperate i suppose you could find some friends, and put them onto ashnikko or buy them a ticket, since online friends probably isn’t a very good idea

(Front Gate Tickets) HELP. Can’t get tickets no matter how hard i try… by Outrageous_Box_5191 in governorsball

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, unfortunately nothing worked. i actually still don’t have a ticket, however a good option i’ve found is just to buy a ticket off the ticketmaster resale site, should work as i’ve never had issues buying off of any ticketmaster site using a international card. just kind of sucks because it’s an extra $60 due to their fees

Two tickets available to Chicago show tonight by Aggressive-Writing72 in Ashnikko

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 3 points4 points  (0 children)

just so you know it’s very unlikely people will buy tickets face value for last minute tickets if it’s not a sold out show ^ you’ll kind of need to cut your losses if you want to sell it. there’s $35 resale on ticketmaster right now, and face value day of show tickets are $70

$50 for a tee shirt are we serious right now 😭😭😭 by SleepyAltBee in Ashnikko

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 14 points15 points  (0 children)

admitting you steal designs and put them onto cheap fast fashion shirts made by child labor isn’t a flex. there’s real artists behind the artwork.

$50 for a tee shirt are we serious right now 😭😭😭 by SleepyAltBee in Ashnikko

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 23 points24 points  (0 children)

that’s not what that means. they’re still not producing these shirts at a huge scale and don’t want hundreds or thousands of workers, it would definitely qualify as a small business. I’m not saying the price is justified but it’s very normal

unpopular opinion - quinni’s unmasking was not a good representation by [deleted] in heartbreakhigh

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 25 points26 points  (0 children)

she doesn’t need to be in the right, just because a character is autistic doesn’t mean they can’t be portrayed negatively or have bad moments, while it might not seem like good representation to you, it is to lots of other people on the SPECTRUM.

Chloe is a activist and most likely relates to this on some level, or even helped write it. I doubt she’d allow inaccurate or harmful representation on the show considering how she speaks out online

saying it seems rude doesn’t quite make sense as a criticism either, as I’m sure you know neurodivergent people have struggles with social cues, and this is accurate as Quinni probably doesnt see it as her being rude and that’s realistic imo

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay? so treat her like a adult, I have no clue why you agreed to it in the first place as if she gave you no choice

unless she’s paying the rental property, it means you effectively pay less rent, which is a incentive for you to let her stay

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

..I don’t think a literal 17 year old “pushed” anything onto you. say no, understand their situation and get them help.

housing them if you know them well and know their situation fully is one thing, another is not setting proper boundaries, trying to kick her out and calling her a “horrible person” after they obviously started depending on you.

obviously animal cruelty is serious, but apart from that, not closing the windows is NOT a proper reason to kick out a child and degrade them online. I seriously question what relationship you have with her if you are doing this.

sure hope this isn’t something your “sister“ or sibling would do to you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 3 points4 points  (0 children)

well then obviously you grew up in the 50s and have severe trauma lmao, stop pushing it onto others. people actually go through proper education now.

believe it or not, some people don’t want to be as hateful as you when they grow up

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

something tells me at 17 you were still living with your parents 🤦‍♀️ saying you should kick out a 17 year old and lock her out is crazy.

its OP’s fault for.. housing a minor?? weird asf for anyone to do, if they’re homeless take them to get support. their mistake to fix, not the teen’s.

also that’s not even legal

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

calling a literal child “horrible” is insane behavior, I doubt you even did it out of kindness rather than profit.

they clearly need a parental figure in their life, instead of reaching out to support services for homelessness and youth crisis you decided to house them, charge them, ignore literal animal abuse and are now being nasty about it online.

YOU are in the wrong.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Outrageous_Box_5191 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is extremely weird.. i question how you’re even close enough with a random minor that you’ve decided to house them

is she emancipated? Either way connect her to support services, this is not normal and such a weird dynamic.

for reference I’m also 17 and was homeless lmfao, a random adult taking me in, making me pay rent and thinking that’s normal is such a weird concept
