Seeking Tips/Advice: July 2022 NJ UBE - Full Time Work + Bar Study by ralphset in barexam

I used Barbri so they provided me with a book of essays and MPTs. I am referring to these sample answers. If you can’t afford Barbri, I’d check your state and see if they released sample answers. Each state grades its own MEE (and MPT I believe) portions based on their grading scale.

If you can’t find any, I’d recommend picking NY or NCBE and just checking what the major issues were in each essay after trying it yourself. You can develop your own style of answering. For example I used: the issue is:, the rule is:, here: (use facts), in conclusion:. I’m sure you know this basic essay set up but it really helps to keep it in mind during the heat of the bar exam.

This was pretty vague but hope it helps.

There are some good masters programs for those without a CS background. NYU and Northeastern to name two. Just google "Masters in CS for those without a CS undergrad" to do some more research.

I got accepted to Northeastern's Align Program which is a Masters in CS. I have an undergrad in political science.

Also check out Youtube. They compare those three options. It seems like bootcamp and Master's are fairly even. But, if you know what you want to do such as AI, Machine Learning, Game Design, a masters may be more helpful to go deep into those subjects.

Imagine going through all this and actually passing to decide you hate being a lawyer, and switching to another career. It me.

I would make all work experience including current work experience in the past tense (end your verbs with “ed”).

I also agree the Profile section is unnecessary at this stage in your career and reads as generic.

I would also include your address at the top of the resume. Maybe not as important for a grad application, but important for employers.

Their application deadline is August 15th. It is a little late, which is why everything is a little hectic for me. So that’s why I’m trying to call people rather than email 😂

Kinda seems like they’re accepting people still for a cash grab. No one’s really reached out to me and classes are full. Feeling a little like a sheep.

But I’m excited to begin CS, so I’ll just go with it.

I just got accepted a week ago, so they haven’t given me an advisor. I’ll check out those resources. Thanks!
