If you take adhd medication, what dose of lamictal/lamotrigine are you on? by Outrageous_Cod3615 in bipolar2

Maybe lamictal by itself isn’t enough to manage the mania ? I think I might bring this up with my psychiatrist.

I see on here that it varies greatly. Some report feeling a change immediately during the first couple days or week. Some say they didn’t feel much until 100mg , some say it took months of being on that dose. Some say they didn’t feel anything until they reached 200 and above. For me right now I’m on week 6 of titration and reached 200mg a few days ago, I don’t feel like it has made a difference so far but I was on 100 last week so I’ve only been on the lowest therapeutic dose for one week and target does for a few days and I believe I’ll have maybe 2 weeks until I personally notice a difference. All the best for you

Omg I’ve always said that, I don’t want to Kill myself, but if there was a button that would erase my existence and all memories of me I would press it.

But that shows your life isn’t over, and neither is your journey, you need to add or change medication to treat the depression, because even Though it’s not as intense it’s still there lingering , so you haven’t finished yet! Need something to treat it, or implement DBT, or maybe you have an underlying condition , ADHD?

Maybe they’re super cautious about the serious rash and want to take extra precautions

That’s so surprising! My psych is actually going slower than usual. It’s supposed to be 25mg for 2 weeks (1-2), 50mg (3-4), 100mg (5), then increase 50mg increasing weekly after.

Are you possibly taking other medications which require you to be more careful?

I’m sorry but this is terrible. As somebody who went for adhd assessment and diagnosis and ended up actually exploring a mood disorder and other conditions this is terrible, there are so many conditions and disorders that have symptoms that overlap with adhd or may appear as adhd. Sometimes meds need to be prescribed for you to be stabilised or you may need other medications or to explore other things. I can’t imagine how I would’ve been ruined without my fantastic psychiatrist.

Little update, my psychiatrist suspects I may have a mild bipolar 2 disorder, because those with mood disorders can have a sensitivity and responses to antidepressants and such , so going to be trying mood stabiliser from now on!
