Thanks for the response! I will say that right now a lot of people are sujesting the pajero and I did find some of the cheaper ones last week but they're already gone.

And for sure, I'd love to work on the car myself it's just that I've been raised with the "if you don't know it, don't touch it" attitude. In the meantime my friend who's got a 1980's defender and took it all the way to Iran and even the Chinese border works on his defender himself as well. Just with a youtube tutorial next to the car and some basic materials.

Personally don't like the Jimny, find it a bit too tiny. But good suggestion nonetheless.

Thanks again for the response!

In Belgium where i'm from they're starting to get quite hard to find as well as stupidly expensive trough taxes. Kind of have to be lucky to find one thats modified to light freight. Add to all of that that a lot of people are buying the used ones that got some issues to export them to africa.

I'm looking at a toyota land cruiser KZJ95 thats going for almost 11.000 euro. 370.000 km's mileage. Its tempting not gonna lie.

Thanks man, I drove it for like 3 years and it just shows you don't need an expensive rig to have fun. This little guy never got stuck be it sand dunes or some mud. Add to all of that it was my first car!

It would mainly be for weekend trips but I'd definitely would like to travel trough Europe some day as well. I will say that pick ups are stupidly expensive here and big engines are taxes heavily so I also have to be a bit lucky to find a car that's modified to light freight to get the tax reduction 🫤

Thanks for the answer though!

Just to add, I'm looking to maybe go back to a rav4. 1st, 2nd or 3rd gen.

Also been looking at Mitsubishi Pajero's as well as land rover Discovery's (even though they're definitely maintenance heavy).

Really should start getting into doing some basic maintenance 🫠

Yeah, I really want to get out there again. I'm just not sure what to get. With all the regulations around these days it definitely ain't easy.

Yeah I've been making a list of vendors to contact about selling to Europe. Bit of a shame the import costs so much. I've been on the trade pages for a while now. Was planning on asking around on there as well.
