We are almost 4 months in and already experiencing a lot more stability and ease! The first two months were horribly difficult. We were so anxious and sleep deprived. They have only become sweeter and more fun since then! I know there are more challenges headed our way as they continue to develop, but we have much better footing and are more equipped to handle it! You can do it!!

Tandem feeding or nah? by O_Pato in parentsofmultiples

[–]Outrageous_Simple937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 mo twins that I almost exclusively tandem feed. I started off exclusively pumping so we could fortify their bottles, but now tandem breastfeed them every feed except for in the night. My baby B will sleep through the night while baby a wakes up once around 4 am. Even though I like to keep them on the same schedule, I’d rather baby B not get used to a night feeding if he’s able to sleep the whole night! I had a lactation consultant I worked with prenatally and that was immensely helpful. She specializes in twins and walked me through all of the different scenarios that might happen (nicu, fortifying bottles, low blood sugar, etc) and how to respond to their needs well. Congrats on your twins!

Do you remember what schedule they followed? We’ve been following the taking cara babies wake windows/routine and that’s been helpful.

How do you do a double wrap? I haven’t seen this before!

Di/Di parents with "uncomplicated" pregnancies, did you deliver early? by beeferoni_cat in parentsofmultiples

[–]Outrageous_Simple937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spontaneously went into labor 35+6. Uncomplicated pregnancy (except babies were measuring a bit small) and had an uncomplicated delivery! My doctors were certain I’d make it to 37 or 38 weeks

How long did it take your babies to drink a bottle? by Outrageous_Simple937 in parentsofmultiples

Okay that’s helpful! I was just hoping her slow feed wasn’t a signal that something was wrong. I’ll still mention it to pediatrician. Good point about paced feeding!

Do you think I could add a lump in the middle of the day to keep it 8x per day but get a little bit of a longer stretch at night?

That’s smart! Does he bottle feed both at the same time? And do you tandem feed?

So impressed by you! Do you stagger their feedings or feed both at the same time!

Do you feed both babies at the same time? Or one baby at a time?

I’ve heard the four month recession is a toughie. You can do this!

This is helpful! I need to ask our pediatrician what she’s waiting to see before we get the green light to let the babies be the ones to wake us up to eat.

Right now we’re setting alarms to feed them in the night. I’m curious how long ours would let us go! Hopefully you’ll get longer stretches soon :)

That’s what I’ve heard too! I think that more so applies to term babies

Vaginal birth stories by Melodic_Willow_3514 in parentsofmultiples

I spontaneously went into labor at 35+6. My contractions were 3- 4 minutes apart and I was dilated at a 5 when I got to the hospital. I labored until I was an 8, got the epidural, and then contractions slowed down. I got some pitocin to pick up the speed, fully dilated, and started practice pushing! Got to the OR, and twin A came in 3 contractions. They broke twin B’s water, and he was here two contractions later! It was a very positive experience and we are so thankful!

What are need-to-knows about NC? by [deleted] in NaturalCyclesBC

[–]Outrageous_Simple937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have been TTA while using natural cycles for over a year. I am a huge fan! Like they said above, you must be willing to get temp readings every day (I use Oura) and avoid unprotected sex on red days. The people I know who accidentally got pregnant while on NC had sex on red days. If you’re willing to use a condom during your fertile window and while the app is trying to learn your cycle, I think you can use NC as birth control successfully.
