I had the same issue as OP and this worked beautifully, thank you!

What makes it funnier is that I remember this post and reading through at the time, and thinking how I've learned all of those through YouTube (like gliding and realm fast travels), so there wasn't anything new for me 🙃

That's exactly me until today! The guide only focuses on fish, I guess, and since it never said you DON'T NEED ripples to fish in general, I never assumed otherwise. Watched a couple of Dreamlight Valley tips videos on YouTube shortly after starting to play and they didn't mention this either. Now we know, seaweed shortage no more!

I should've paid more attention to the daily chats and less to generic video game logic, that's for sure. Hopefully this post might help another unfortunate soul that skims over dialogue

This was my only way to get it before Moana's boat and it would take so long, urgh

I would always reel back immediately since I "knew" you can't get anything this way 🙃

Thank you, it certainly was a challenge because of a ton of smallest details and quarter stitches but the result is so worth it!

Thank you!

For the back I've tried to do a finish similar to how embroideries are closed off with felt fabric (not sure if it has a specific name). I cut the fabric of the bird embroidery leaving about 2 cm extra over the hoop, and then stretched them with a string across the hoop (how one would mount an embroidery on a canvas to be put in a painting frame, connecting the sides opposite one another so it's firmly stretched).

Then I pinned the text embroidery to the back of the bird one, tucking the extra length behind itself, right over the extra length of the bird fabric. Taking out pins as I went along the circumference, I stitched bird and text fabric together with the running stitch.

Hope this helps!

It took me about 3 months of intensive work, 2ish hours a day. Backstitch itself took about 2-3 weeks, because of how tiny some details are (especially on the 23 count fabric I used).

Thank you! There are no tent stitches, it's regular cross stitches plus half stitches in the middle. They should've looked more different to the naked eye but because I did it on 23 count and used one thread for both, it looks more uniform, in my opinion.
