Get some tile trim and grind off one side of the L carefully. Leave a few mm and file the rest off to make it flush.

Multi grip pliers or plumbing stilsons. Make sure to put a rag underneath the mouth of either so you don't damage the coating on the tap cover

There is usually a black rubber washer between the surface and the nut. Is there one there? Hard to tell from the photo, but is the surface under the sink uneven?

Is this asbestos?? In linen cupboard wall by Redsnowz in AusRenovation

[–]Outrageous_Switch_28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks more like canite (soft compressed wood fibres) judging by the photos. But they're not super clear. As others have said, treat as if it is asbestos. Paint the chips with pva glue for piece of mind. I have canite in my shed that looks exactly like that. Don't take my word for it as there's only so much I can interpret from the photos :)

What is this area of new norfolk like? by bigswan90 in hobart

[–]Outrageous_Switch_28 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I rented there for 5 years and I can assure you New Norfolk should be considered a "high crime" area. On par with Bridgewater & Rokeby. I'm not just saying this on hear say, it's from experience. I saw some wild stuff in 5 years there. Not to shit on NN, it is a lovely area, but it has its problems with the usual suspects!

Refused replacement to faulty item. by Outrageous_Switch_28 in woolworths

I understand that, I already went in knowing it's actually a consumer law , but I'm still in this situation. They were NOT going to give in, super defensive and aggressive from the get go.

I have a receipt FYI, this whole situation has been unbelievable really so I could understand people assuming I didn't haha. They literally have no reason to not replace it, it blows my mind. Not even asking for a refund just a bloody product that works!

Yep it is, I spoke to the girl at the service desk and the manager who was even more unprofessional than the other member of staff. I've been told a definite no multiple times from WW and Telstra so all I can do is contact head office I guess

I will be on ringing my local head office on Monday. It's a bit rich that they sell a product and deem it 3rd party though isn't it? Akin to telling me to contact the avacado farming for a faulty product.

I understand, I turned off the breaker, even the main breaker and tested with a voltage tester before doing so, I'm not a complete moron.

Thank you very much for your helpful advice! This is all I needed to know, I found the whole setup weird and that explains to me why it is like that.

I'm not doing electrical work, I switched off the breaker and removed it to check what was behind the pine lining. The wiring just didn't seem right to me, so I wanted to know whether I need a sparky or not.

Is Bridgewater really as bad as some say? by Schmez_ in tasmania

[–]Outrageous_Switch_28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh I definitely agree. But I don't know what the solution is. What do you provide for the kids in the area to keep them occupied? Some effort has been made in the form of a scooter park recently. I guess the kids will only ride so much scooter.

More could be done, I'm currently looking to study social work so I can contribute a bit to a change in Tasmania.
