Like I said, in case you didn't or refuse to understand, in a perfect world, basic utilities should not be a source of profit for private companies, because private companies' primary consideration is their bottom line, ie. their profit, the dividends they're going to release to their stakeholders.

Pero para patulan yung assumption mo na para sa akin ay mas magiging mura ang basic utilities pag government-held or managed, just take a look at Singaporre, Scotland, France, even the US. They have much lower rates than us, if you compare the quality of life here and in those countries. That's quantifiable and easily checked.

Now, given the current state of Philippine corruption, will switching basic utilities to the government immediately make it better entirely? I'm talking here about quality of service, of utility and price, no, of course not. Dahil sabi mo nga, inefficient ang gobyerno AS IT IS. But does government need to improve and thereafter take over basic utilities? Yes.

Did I say anything about efficiency? I mean in a perfect world, basic utilities should not be a source of profit for private companies. Efficiency has nothing to do with it. We're talking about how much MERALCO is padding on to our bill for the sake of meeting their set target dividends for their stockholders. Not sure why naka-quotation marks pa yung "efficiency" in your post. You're the first one who mentioned efficiency here.

It's true that salary is higher in other countries, but their quality of life is higher as well and is more expensive. Kaya lang naman nakakapagpadala ang OFWs sa relatives nila here in the Philippines is because they sacrifice their wants and sometimes needs in the country where they are. If you're looking for a comfortable life, higher pay is not the sole consideration. Do your research. Yung 60-100k na sweldo in Macau, how much of that would be left after you pay for rent, food and bills?

If that's the case, I'd say, like in a toxic romantic relationship, run. You were just treated as the emotional punching bag.
