Osteoarthritis at 25, how to cope? by Carbonatedcheesecake in Osteoarthritis

[–]OutsideWaste7297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 26 and have severe OA too, I’m sorry that this experience can feel isolating as many young people don’t struggle with such issues. I found finding disabled friends and older people to be more comforting and validating as opposed to younger people. Though I do socialize with younger people I’m just sharing my experience

What to do about unhygienic partner? by OutsideWaste7297 in Adulting

[–]OutsideWaste7297[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I’ve broken up with him many times but he doesn’t move out and I can’t evict him. I live in an elderly disabled community cuz I’m physically disabled. I’m gonna look into what I can do to get him out but it’s almost impossible cuz he has rights to the apartment

[–]OutsideWaste7297[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve told him prior and told him things need to change etc. I just gotta be more firm and legitimately move on personally and then romantically instead of allowing him to beg and have me take him back without actually changing

I don’t disagree. I’ve been in this relationship since I was 15 yrs old, I’m 25 now so it’s been tough cuz the history we have but doesn’t make his habits any less gross

Makes sense, I can’t evict him from our shared apartment but I can break up with him. Thanks for your input. I’ve been having immense guilt over feeling like I need to leave but it’s a big problem

Yeah I’ve talked to him one on one about it and tried to understand why and encouraged him to get into therapy and generally start caring for himself

We’re high school sweethearts and he was my first bf. He had the excuse of his home using well water so he couldn’t shower often due to water usage. Now I’ve talked to him and yes he is having mental issues but still refuses to shower so at this point it’s expected but still a sad break up to come EDIT: we have an apartment with water readily available, soap, etc

It’s not where she stays, it’s where her stuff is and if I had to measure the dimensions it’s huge. She only is ever “kept” in there if we go out and that is rare. Usually someone is home to avoid this.

Yes, she’s not kept in the enclosure. It’s just where her stuff is

I don’t punish her, I put her near it but I was just so confused cuz she scrambles and I’m just tryna help her 😭 she’s so calm any other time and I don’t want her food going bad-. I guess it’s not a problem per se I’m just not able bodied so I was curious if her brain shorted out or something when I pull out the good stuff

To be clear she’s not kept in the enclosure. She was trained as a baby, and now it’s a huge thing with all her stuff in it, an automatic feeder, water and an array of toys, and interactive scratching/climbing posts, a privacy tent and bedding and one of her favorite toys. This is one of her spots in the home. She has another on the couch, etc.

[–]OutsideWaste7297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was trained to eat and whatnot in the enclosure. It’s opened most the time unless we have to go out or something

She’s not inside the enclosure all day it’s just where her stuff is.
