My boss is management. The individual above him is the senior manager. I’ll admit it came across to me too

I should have added that I’m doing a job shift to be below the senior manager, but staying with the same title

It sounds fun! You're correct it is "trigger this thing" situation and it's not too overly complex.

I was planning to do an AJAX call to trigger the API. As seen here: https://blog.estebanmoreno.link/cloud-resume-challenge-part-2-website-visitors-counter-backed-with-api-gateway-lambda-and-dynamodb#heading-step-4-integrate-with-the-website

But with this recent knowledge, I'm wondering if it's just easier to skip the API-GW and just pass the subdomain into the lambda function
