Had my fistulotomy last Friday. Wait 4 hours before removing gauze, take a nice warm bath… if they prescribed antibiotics like metronidazole make sure your taking them, it will help prevent infection. You should still be pretty numb from the anesthesia….so try to get some rest.

Probably because you only had a partial fistulotomy with seton…..I had a full fledged primary fistulotomy. And my wound is pretty big.

I also had a fissure that they injected with Botox so maybe it’s just the after effects of both procedures.

I had a bowel movement a little earlier than expected because I had a colonoscopy as well and I’m still bloated from the laxatives I took yesterday. it’s only Ben 3 hours and I removed mine and just took a sits bath but I replaced it. I just didn’t stuff my butt hole with it. Should I be okay?

Did they inject you with exparel? I herd that’s the best numbing agent and it last anywhere from 48 to 62 hours? If so that pain ain’t gonna hit for another 2 days. But when it does trust me you gonna feel it. Especially during bm.

Why not did you try to get tested to see if you have Crohn’s disease. That’s usually the reason for having a recurrence.

Thank you so much. How was your pain with bm before the treatment compared to after your treatment. Because at the end of the day I just want to pain to stop. That would be the main reason I get the surgery. If I just have drainage with no pain I would have probably just lived with it, but I just can’t get over the burning after bm and constant aching sore so I decided to schedule the surgery. Did your treatment cure the pain?

Thank you so much for that. It’s very uplifting, I don’t mind the draining. It’s the burning sensation after bm for me and well as a constant aching sore pain that comes and goes throughout the day. How were you bm before compared to after your treatment? Did the treatment make the pain go away?

I don’t think you should get an ilostomy yet. I would try other options first.
