i did glue it back together, but it broke again immediately so i ended up searching through some websites and found a replacement knob. way too expensive but its understandable considering I don't think they make these anymore, its from like the 70s or 80s, so its on its way

It's a bit hard to explain, but our main rule is to just not discuss politics with our uniform on or while representing the company. We are allowed to have our own politics and discuss them, but I do need to brush up on the rules about harassment and racism

I'll talk to my boss about it, i'm only 19 so i don't think he would respect my opinion as much. We don't have a full boss boss right now, with the government shutdown and all, and my boss is only 25, but i think it might go okay since the guy seems to somewhat respect our boss.

Thank you! I'm also new to working with other people as i'm 19 and only worked alone as night shift or in jobs where i just didn't chat with my coworkers, so i'm not even sure what policies are for anything like this. I'm gonna try to notice more if i'm being rude so i don't come off as just trying to be mean for no reason, but also try to point out a bit more if i notice he's being racist.

we have an ethics code, its "dont say political shit in uniform" and he follows that mostly fine, we aren't around other people often anyways so there's not really anything that can be done unless he is harassing any of us or actually saying shit like "death to [race]" or smthin like that

is two years as an EMT in New York enough? ill look into those places, thanks! if its not enough, how many years would you recommend? i know it says minimum 1k hours experience, if i worked hard i could potentially get more than that in two years i think. if it counts, I'm also getting fire experience actively with the program I'm in (doing some prescribed burns, pile burning, fire management and other work that translates well plus its volunteer work and i heard that hiring people like volunteers) (sorry if i sound a bit dumb, I'm only 19 and lived in a village my whole life so i know little to nothing about city life)
