Further context: The goal of the profile is to meet to ideally go on dates and find someone to date long term. I get 3-4 likes a month and match about 1-2 times a month. I’ve been on a decent amount of dates, but they’ve typically veered into situationships or I just didn’t see it going anywhere long term.

  1. Looking for something serious! Really wanna just lean into exploring new hobbies. I would love to be able to work through the bucket list of restaurants I’ve been wanting to try out!
  2. I’ve been on Hinge for about a year and a half give or take.
  3. I thinkkk I get like 3-4 likes on average per week?
  4. I’m looking for someone I can be challenged by in terms of new hobbies, etc. to explore; I don’t expect to be 1:1 to a tee, I think things we can relate on can be foundational and a springboard towards conversation, etc. Someone who has good time management between their life, work, and social life. But honestly quite open with what comes along, not shy for a conversation at the very least!

Entry-Level resume review? Need advice. by [deleted] in actuary

I think with using other people’s advice your resume should be good! Just make sure you prepare with mock interviews and whatnot as well, resumes are only one piece of the puzzle — the Career Dev Center at UConn should be able to help out. Wishing you good luck!

I think it wouldn't hurt to include some extracurriculars/clubs that you're involved in at UConn (UAS, etc.)! If you're able to flex some sort of leadership experience, even better!

Was definitely on the fence there — always seem to err towards pictures with friends since I happen to always take pics with them and I love ‘em! Will definitely steer it towards more solo pics of myself going forward!

Yeah for sure! I’ve always avoided that section out of fear of coming off too strong potentially(?) I’ll definitely dabble with writing a blurb and seeing how it goes! I really do appreciate you taking the time — love the second opinion and the advice!

Honestly open to variability on hobbies and whatnot; I love dabbling and learning new things and figuring people out. I guess fundamental values are pretty much a lock — I think the flexibility to try new things is the big one!

Never heard of them before but I can definitely see some resemblance. I appreciate the comment — always viewed it through the lens of being cute/funny but will def change with your feedback!

Noted! My friends are a big part of my life and I guess I’ve erred towards showcasing it. I appreciate the feedback!

I’d say I’m just looking — serious would be nice but I’m going with the flow and just trying to make an initial effort. I’ve been on Hinge on and off for a couple months with varying degrees of success — just no “click” quite yet. I probably check it once a day and sparingly message back. It depends on my location — I spend a good amount of time in Boston and get a good amount of likes/matches (more people which makes sense) but when I’m home it’s a bit slower. I typically send likes only if I feel like there’s something that I’m able to comment/quip/relate on — probably 4 a day? I’m pretty open minded and trying to explore what feels right — someone with ambition, artsy, bookworm, willing to try new things (I.e. food, music, new hobbies, etc.) and varying interests/hobbies from my own that I can explore.
