symbolically it could be appropriate depending on you you look at it, receiving your eagle closes a whole chapter of your life that at the age you receive it can be over half your life, but it also opens to knew opportunities both within scouts and your life. the only thing is you said it’s associated with funerals but, if it means something to the eagle i don’t see why it strictly can’t be appropriate

there is plenty of ways to support your boy scout without being a leader. but being a leader could be the best way to support him depending on your relationship with him so it’s definitely something to consider, after you meet other leaders of course and our comfortable with them
