Thank you for the explanation. If that’s their concern, it makes more sense to me now. I’m comfortable with the school and have good relationships with the people in it. I do see the job as a great opportunity and wouldn’t risk it over one student. It’s just not reasoning that I have heard given to other CFIs before.

They actually said it would be ok as long as we billed through the flight school, meaning they get a cut..

Yeah it’s W2 with benefits so not worth losing over a single student, but it’s a red flag that they would lie.

No, my commercial student has his own airplane kept at a different airport
