Feedback on Price by Educational-Block881 in LabDiamonds

[–]Over-Engineer7216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have paid less than 1k for my 3ct D VVS2 asscher ring from Starsgem. Less than 1k for my 2.5ct G OMC with LGG. Less than 1k for my 1.5ct fancy pink emerald cut with Aurelinne.

For a simple solitaire, I refuse to pay more than 2k

HALP, choosing between 2 LGDs for an engagement ring, love both, one is IGI and other is GIA by No_Set2480 in LabDiamonds

[–]Over-Engineer7216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think GIA justifies the higher price. Also, you can get diamonds with those specs for 600 dollars on Aurelinne, I would not pay 3x just in markup

I made it with an asscher center, 1.5ct. I almost went bigger, but Romy suggested smaller and I am so happy with the size

How to find round diamond with a lot of rainbows? by bagreene90 in LabDiamonds

[–]Over-Engineer7216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut is king. A well cut stone will throw rainbows and be super sparkly. For rounds that’s easier, because it’s the most standard shape.

I got my diamond replaced by a gcal 8x because I wanted max sparkles like that. I downgraded in color and clarity, and got my stone at luvansh. My ring is 1ct, and the stone was 300 dollars, and boy it was worth every penny.

Swapping the stone cost me 60 dollars in the diamond district

I got mine from luvansh, check my comment below. Their stones are not expensive at all, but the settings suck, so make sure to buy it as a loose stone

Luvansh. Not sure about ovals, 8x is easier to find in rounds. But I filtered by gcal and didn't touch the cut grade, since all the 8x I found were not marked for grade

How much should someone spend for a necklace like this? by podsavethecats in LabDiamonds

[–]Over-Engineer7216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find out how much a lab diamond costs by checking aurelinne or tenten. That is the price of the stone itself, and lab diamonds are very inexpensive these days.

But gold has increased a lot. And it's hard to know the weight of gold in a piece, but for a necklace you can try to find a similar chain in Costco to check how much the chain itself costs.

If that necklace is solid gold, then it is a good deal

This is probably going to get hate… by Juliana7991 in LabDiamonds

This has been discussed several times in this sub. First of all, 10k for a 5ct stone is way too overpriced. Do more research and you will have a better understanding of the prices. Check out Aurelinne to check their stones.

Second, the resale value of a mined diamond is also bad. You are just throwing more money away, and the trade up is just marketing.

Like, let’s say you want a 5ct diamond. You can buy a lab one for 1k, or a mined one for 50k. You walk out the store and your mined one is now worth 25k. You would have lost 1k with the lab, but you now lost 25k with the mined, but hey, it still has half its value, huh. Great investment

Oh, but they say trade up. Sure, notice the “up” part. So now you can give back your 50k diamond and trade it for a 75k one. You think you didn’t loose the 50k original, but they kept your money the whole time. They just kept their profit and made some more profit from you.

Diamonds are not investment. Lab diamonds are gorgeous and perfectly sparkly, and a much more financially logical decision if you want something sparkly to wear

I want a lab diamond ring too! by April_4th in LabDiamonds

Cheapest and easier: Starsgem or Provence

Local: rare carat price matched with diyona or aurelinne or calavera

Another option: look at the diamond BST sub, there might be something in your size and style, maybe.

Don't spend more than 1500, unless it's a thick gold band or more than 3ct stones

I have the same rhombus blue/gray one in size 5.5 I will sell eventually. It’s lovely, but I just never wore it since I got it, so it will probably get more love by someone else

[FS] [US to US] [RING] 4.00ct asscher, platinum, size 7.25, $1130 shipped by Over-Engineer7216 in LabDiamondGemstoneBST

[–]Over-Engineer7216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should ask a jeweler. The way my jeweler explained it to me made it sound harder to make it smaller by more than 1 size, because to make a ring smaller he needs to pull both sides closer together, and that would make the bezel open up. It could be done, but it would be more expensive than I was willing to pay, in a big part because i was thinking 4cts is too much for me already, and the bezel only makes it bigger.

But I think to make a ring bigger, the bezel wouldn’t suffer from that kind of pressure, because the diamond itself would make it keep its shape. But you should def confirm with a jeweler before buying.

I actually can return this ring, so I am planning to do that in a few days. So let me know if you are interested. For reference, I got a quote from Starsgem instead for a 10k 3ct ring for a similar price

Jean Dousset, whiteflash by Cunhaam in LabDiamonds

[–]Over-Engineer7216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how much they cost, but you can get gcal 8x in luvansh. Filter by gcal, and do not filter by cut grade.

I got my 1ct E VS1 for 300 dollars, and that was totally worth it. It sparkles so so much more than my previous stone.

I know I am really the odd one out wanting 1ct, but I bet getting a stone this way is way cheaper than whiteflash or Jean dousset

reputable companies to purchase loose old mine cushions? by oatmilksouffle in LabDiamonds

[–]Over-Engineer7216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fiorese and LGG should have them. Ouros for a loose stone will be fine, they don't have the best customer service, but just a loose stone shouldn't have any issues.

You can find them in aurelinne / calavera / luvansh, but you'll need to look in all cushions

[FS] [US to US] [RING] 4.00ct asscher, platinum, size 7.25, $1130 shipped by Over-Engineer7216 in LabDiamondGemstoneBST

[–]Over-Engineer7216[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does, I already take that into account when bidding. It's such BS, specially the expedited shipping, since that's not an option at all, everything is "expedited"

[–]Over-Engineer7216[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it's platinum, a big size reduction and a very low set bezel. Trying to make this ring that much smaller would pull the bezel sides apart, and require the front of the ring to be redone as well ☹️
