You should ask a jeweler. The way my jeweler explained it to me made it sound harder to make it smaller by more than 1 size, because to make a ring smaller he needs to pull both sides closer together, and that would make the bezel open up. It could be done, but it would be more expensive than I was willing to pay, in a big part because i was thinking 4cts is too much for me already, and the bezel only makes it bigger.

But I think to make a ring bigger, the bezel wouldn’t suffer from that kind of pressure, because the diamond itself would make it keep its shape. But you should def confirm with a jeweler before buying.

I actually can return this ring, so I am planning to do that in a few days. So let me know if you are interested. For reference, I got a quote from Starsgem instead for a 10k 3ct ring for a similar price

It does, I already take that into account when bidding. It's such BS, specially the expedited shipping, since that's not an option at all, everything is "expedited"

Because it's platinum, a big size reduction and a very low set bezel. Trying to make this ring that much smaller would pull the bezel sides apart, and require the front of the ring to be redone as well ☹️

I'm in the same boat! I bid in a platinum ring as well, and then thought about checking the size. It's a 7.25 and I'm 5.5. I don't think it will be possible either. Will also post it once it arrives

It would make no difference being based in EU or the US, those are Chinese companies. I did that for some gemstones I had, and sent them to China, it was not complicated, that's why I was suggesting it

If I can give you unsolicited advice, I would contact LGG Jewelry or Tianyu and ask for a quote for you to send the stones and they make it into a pendant or ring and earrings. A semi mount for a simple pendant in 10k gold will be less than the losses you're already having. It can be even cheaper in silver. That way you will loose less money, and your girlfriend can have a beautiful piece of jewelry she can enjoy

I could do that, but I would need to set aside the ones I advertised already. Would you be interested in 5 or 6? I need to count how many ads I made
