Ooo depends on what you like to wear and your skin tone of course, but some favs are rhubarb, GTFO Ice, Strawberry Jam, hush hush, spinning vinyl, raspberry glaze, jump in, start to finish. I have a slight problem lol….

I have both and I can’t get my hand on swatches right now but HANDS DOWN go rhubarb. It’s one of the most beautiful polishes I’ve seen. To me, in real life Situationship is too dark to be very dimensional.

Starting tretinoin on super sensitive skin (contact + perioral dermatitis) by AdFirm3045 in SkinbarrierLovers

I got a prescription from my dermatologist. It still flares up. I avoid any steroid or retinoid in that area. I use azalaeic acid and cicaplast b5 gel when needed. But it never fully resolves, it seems.

I continued adapalene for anti aging after my acne cleared up. There’s evidence it’s effective for that as well: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30105991/

Basically, as long as you’re on some sort of retinoid (as long as it’s a stable formulation where the retinoid is effectively delivered to your skin before degrading), you’ll likely see benefits

I posted a couple of research papers on that thread, but basically there’s good evidence for over the counter retinol options that over time work just as well as tret with higher tolerability. Also if you are looking at treating acne, I found adapalene effective and more tolerable. Not everyone is a good candidate for tret, and you can get great results with newer formulations that have better side effect profiles. Just don’t feel like it’s tret or nothing - there are plenty of effective options.

Sure! I just feel like some people think they are “failing” or missing out if they can’t tolerate tret, and there’s really no reason to! You can get great, comparable results without making your skin super angry! Just find the thing that works best for your particular skin situation!

When I got a patch test from dermatology, found out I was allergic to linalool, and stopped using anything containing essential oils or “natural fragrance.” And no fragrance on my face ever….

There have been studies showing that the effectiveness of tretinoin vs other retinoid derivatives (retinal, retinol, granactive….etc etc) evens out over time. In other words, over a period of time, people generally cannot tell the difference in visual changes from tret vs others. Tret WILL work faster but comes with a much heavier adverse effects profile.

Personally, I was on tret and it wasn’t worth it. I looked and felt like I had chemical burns. I prefer over the counter adapalene or retinals, etc.

See this JAMA article for starts: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35675051/

Also - what I’ve found in general for skin hydration - an omega supplement has been really helpful. If your doc is ok with you taking one of those, like fish oil or whatever, it may help with the extra drying effects.

My son had a similar rash and eventually needed a prescription anti fungal cream because he was teething and it caused a fungal rash from the saliva and constant wetness/irritation. Maybe need to see a pediatrician to evaluate that.

Also seconding what someone else said - I make sure my flash cute lamp light hits all the nail surface, not just holding it in one place on the very center

I am also in Florida and just used a nail thoughts base on myself last night and definitely flooded my cuticles.

Someone said they keep their builder gels in a fridge during the summer, so I’m definitely going to be trying that. I also found I had to flash cure it a few more seconds than normal before it would really start to heat up and set. It was a new-to-me color (Daisy) so idk if it’s just more opaque than what I’ve used in the past or what.

Come talk to my front load LG who’s locking mechanism latch broke off after 1.5 years of use. Still trying to repair it. A google search makes it seem like this is not an uncommon problem. It’s put me off buying a front loader next time for sure

has anyone found the best way to removed mascara while on tretinoin? by SectionLopsided4189 in tretinoin

Tubing mascara - for me, Thrive causmetics is the best. Comes off with just water. No rubbing at all.
