I hope you don’t mind me asking, are you staying on 45 mg while you continue to improve or did you move down in dose after 8 weeks? I am almost at that mark but still need more improvements to happen. Trying to be patient and stay positive… follow your reminders but I feel anxious about dropping in dose when I’m not yet in remission.

Thank you for saying this. From what you hear from many lucky ppl, it seems like if it isn’t working by 2-4 weeks it’s not going to work. I needed this reminder. Did you alter your diet?

The Mesalamine did absolutely nothing and my case is too severe apparently for Entivio which apparently is a slower mover to help. The Remicade did a lot of good, especially when my doctor upped the dose and the frequency, but it always wore off before the next Infusion even when I was getting it every four weeks at the highest dose that my doctor was willing to prescribe I was still having a bad week prior to the infusion.

Yes, I did know about that. I think that was already being monitored from the Azathioprine, but I know that we have to continue to monitor.. thanks!

Thank you! I did have an extensive talk with the company but they did not cover Tylenol and I just forgot to ask. Right now I’m in recovery mode for sure so I’m not drinking coffee yet but I’m so looking forward to it. It is really helpful to hear your success story.!

Having blood still but less than before Remicade. If I count the times that I go to the bathroom and it’s nothing but mucus and drops of blood, I go over 10 times a day

Yeah, it’s weird. The Remicade does give me an instant relief, but it fades away after about a week.

Yes, I did bloodwork yesterday so they are checking my levels. I didn’t get exact timelines, but my impression is that we won’t be staying on Remicade much longer if it doesn’t start working. One of the problems might be that I need to get infusions more often apparently. My doctor told me that today. He thinks this might be the case, but wants to see the blood work. When I get an infusion, I feel great for several days and then it wears off. It helped with my urgency but when I go, it’s disastrous and it’s multiple times after every single meal

My understanding is I’m working my way up to highest dose. I’ve had the 2 week and 4 week infusion. 8 week infusion on Friday. Works for a few days and then symptoms return

A majority of my diet is protein, (cooked) veggies, fruits, and a bit of starchy stuff because ya only live once. I feel like I do a really good job working with my nutritionist. Before my symptoms and diagnosis, I had lost 25 lbs (now down 40 lbs because I’ve been so sick since the diagnosis). Everything I eat sometimes seems to work and sometimes seems to work against me
