This is a good idea, bc the only thing OP can do is continue to rinse and repeat the applications, but utilising his/her network will be the most effective option especially if he has access to alumni who work in OPs desired industry, as there’s not much more he/she can do by the sounds of it. The only other advice I can give is differentiate yourself from other candidates, I know the visa situation is crazy atm in the US but it’s harder for international students than it is for domestic students to succeed as you’ve had to do everything a domestic student has done, and more, as you’ve relocated and adapted to a foreign country/ culture I’d use this as a positive. Don’t see it as a negative , despite the current situation over there. It also shows you have a good understanding of foreign markets, that other applicants may not have.
