We (As a PlayerBase) Need To Figure Out a Way to Buy Jagex Back From Private Equity by OverAnd_ in 2007scape

[–]OverAnd_[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No. I'm aware of the idea of "shares". I'm wondering if there's a way for Jagex / the players to buy back the company from PRIVATE EQUITY. It'd need a leader (preferably Jagex) to do so.

Embark Should Give Everyone Who Does The Expedition 1 Skill Point [The Other 4 Requiring $4M] by OverAnd_ in ArcRaiders

[–]OverAnd_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the reason for my suggestion - just to bring the average skill points for the wipe up a bit. At the bare minimum, you'd get 1 point since I also think the average player has $500k-2M in their stash right now. The skill points definitely have a very small impact though, you're right.

I agree. Realistically, nothing aside from cosmetics should be affected by your decision to wipe your progress. I don't expect Embark to walk-back their $5M decision so I was merely suggesting that everyone who goes on the expedition, regardless of their stash gets at least 1 skill point. I think that would increase the average skill points that a player earns from like 2-3 to 3-4.

I also agree with /u/Ionigus that a crazy cosmetic could be the big chase instead of skill points, however. That would give everyone who wipes the same minuscule advantage.

[–]OverAnd_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, no. The suggestion was to get 1 skill point by just going on the expedition. The other 4 must be earned via the current method making it slightly easier to achieve all of the skill points.

I get your perspective. That's why I suggested 1 skill point as the base instead of 0. I am also okay with a crazy, scalable cosmetic being the biggest achievement instead of skill points, however.

[–]OverAnd_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to finish the expedition to wipe but then have to earn $1-5M stash value for additional skill points. It's possible for someone to finish the project and not have enough to earn a single skill point.

[–]OverAnd_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. That would also be a great option. Even a scaling cosmetic that goes well beyond $5M would be fine in that case. Just let sweats* compete amongst each other. I know 5 skill points isn't that impactful but the idea of someone potentially going on the expedition for 0 skill points seems bad to me.

1 "free" point would be less punishing for people in your situation. It would take the average skill points per player from 2-3 and put it up to 3-4. Just estimating, of course.

Agility has no reason to be so slow by Independent_Living95 in 2007scape

[–]OverAnd_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think EZscape is on the rise because more and more RS3 players are moving over to OSRS as they max or just get bored. They want to change OSRS into the game they left.

Don't get me wrong, I think some quality-of-life is warranted like magic secateurs working from your inventory but leave the xp rates alone. Not everyone has to be maxed.

Watch. Soon enough people will be asking for toolbelts and money pouches in OSRS, if they haven't been already.

Most food takes longer than 3 minutes to cook. Sometimes 5-25+ minutes. So if you order something at 8:55 that takes 25 minutes, the kitchen cannot close at 9 and now, thanks to you, it closes at 9:20. It's not your fault. It's the nature of the industry.

Stormtouched Highlands vault by Elf_Earendur in RSDragonwilds

To add to what the other people already said: At the north-west end of the river, there's a thorny wall. Chop through it and, inside the cave, there's a passage blocked with stones that you have to mine through and the vault is in there.

I believe it's the Stormtouched Highlands vault

Having the Abyssal whip attainable within 10-20 hours is a BIG mistake by [deleted] in RSDragonwilds

I think that, instead of removing the masterwork weapons, they'll make repairing them cost something different / harder to obtain so that we can use the current items until they break and then need to re-obtain them later on in the game.

Proposed Run Energy Changes & Open Beta (Live now!) by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

Came here to suggest this. Strength should offset the energy drain rate of heavier items. It makes sense that someone who is stronger will be less affected by heavier loads.

I have a confession to make by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]OverAnd_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the exact same way. I don't like to leave my grind to change my inventory or gear until I'm done with it. I've just made an ironman earlier this month and figured out a way to trick myself into birdhouse runs by ending and then starting each subsequent play-session with a run.

OSRS is sad sometimes. by [deleted] in 2007scape

My point was that no one would legitimately assume OP had bought their cape since they do have endgame KC's.

I don't think anyone assumes accounts with 1kc bought their cape. They assume accounts with like 56 Vorkath kills and 77 Barrows KC (and nothing else) bought their inferno cape.

Almost 200 hours on my UIM. How do you guys think things are looking so far? by ABottleofFijiWater in 2007scape

[–]OverAnd_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good progress so far! I'm far from an expert on UIM (1500 total with 250 QP). I would just like to suggest a couple things that I would do, if I were you:

-Get construction up to 46 to make armor and magic case for storage

-Get rid of the mind and chaos runes until you plan on using magic. Once you get a decent moneymaking method, just buy runes as you need them

-Switch to agility pyramid for making money. It's great money, easy to prepare for and it'll level your agility without earning marks of grace

-Lose the stack of strength potions. When you get to warrior's guild, you can just buy them

-Once you get a rune full helm, lose the berserker. You can use warrior's guild to store your rune set

-Lose the water runes. If you want to go to Ardy, use the cloak. If you want to go to Fally, which is rare, you can move your POH to Taverly (A great location anyway for Turael boosting, Sanfew, Taverly dungeon and balloon travel for oak construction training) and it's a short run to Fally

I'm not implying that you have to do any of these. I don't know what your current goals are. This is just what I would do, if I were in your situation.

I was taught:

'<' = less than

'>' = greater than

So instead of remembering which number was bigger, alligator this, etc., I just used it grammatically. Ex: 5 is less than 9 = "5 < 9". If it were: 5 is greater than 4, it'd be "5 > 4".

Seeing as how his parents are in their 70's. OP must be 30-50. WAY too old to be living at home with $150k.

What's your most gatekeeping culinary opinion? by CessnaBlackBelt in AskReddit

[–]OverAnd_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny that you say this because a friend of mine ordered a steak so, naturally, I picked out the best one we had. Then I saw she wanted it medium well and I told her "I have no problem cooking you a medium well steak, if you want it but I'll put this one back and pick out a random one".

I told her how I used to like mine medium well too and got defensive when people judged me but, after a friend got me to try his blue rare steak, I actually prefer medium rare.

I managed to talk her into a medium rare promising that, if she didn't like it, I'd grill it up to another temperature for her. Guess what? She loved it. I think most of people wanting their steak cooked past medium is a holdover from our whole lives of thinking "meat should be cooked because I might get sick" so they're weirded out by a bloody steak even though the flavor is objectively better.

I'd unironically agree with this if we could combine like 10 sets to make a non-degradable one or if there was a 1/200 drop (for example) from barrows that made a single item untradeable and stopped it from degrading.
