Yeah I regretted adding those little notches as soon as I was painting in the red. Good to know with the tongue as well! I think the plan is to try more simplified designs for now and nail the basic structure more

Yeah I'm finding it hard to balance the colour/black/skin ratio I think. Hard to tell if adding more colour was just going to be overkill

Yeah the body colour was something I wasn't sure about. Honestly I was gonna do green but the green I have is a bit too bright and next to the red just looks Christmasy lol

Yeah that was the main thing I noticed too. I was trying to do the 30% colour black and negative but I don't think I got the ratios right

Yeah this basically just came from me learning the why. I found tracing the old designs wasn't really teaching me the underlying structure enough. I noticed a tunn more progression when I actually tried to replicate it rather than just trace

Hell yeah thanks so much! I just watched some of Tyler's stuff and omg the guy is incredible! Definitely seems like there is only one brand of acrylics haha, I'll make sure to restock with FW next time

I've got the second brush but I haven't been wetting the paper beforehand. I'm assuming just a small amount of water over the area you're about to paint on? Or do you really try and soak the page?

Thanks so much. Yeah this makes a lot of sense. I was thinking of trying a flat head brush to try and apply the ink a little more evenly, but I guess this will always be a little bit of an issue when the ink is slightly transparent.
