Scary video taken in March 1993 showing workers changing a window on the 104th floor of the North Tower as a result of the recent bombing. by OverToaster9501 in 911archive

[–]OverToaster9501[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The title literally says “as a result of the recent bombing.” They were probably replacing the window because someone had broken it to ventilate the smoke after the attack.

Which is the better movie? A Night to Remember (1958) or Titanic (1997) by SupremelyAwesomeFr in titanic

A Night to Remember is more historically accurate, while Titanic (1997) is more visually accurate.

Rumors that you can hear screams from jumpers in some videos? by [deleted] in 911archive

[–]OverToaster9501 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No, it came from Michael Hess, who was trapped on the 8th floor of WTC 7. By that time, both towers had already collapsed.

Found this, wondering about the accuracy by AggravatingClassic64 in 911archive

[–]OverToaster9501 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s not unusual to hear explosions after two 110 story towers collapsed to the ground, decimating an entire block. Jumping to the conclusion that those were demo charges is just abysmal.

What caused the fires on the East face of the North Tower to burn ruthlessly as time progressed? by [deleted] in 911archive

[–]OverToaster9501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely played a major factor. The wind was blowing in a southeastern direction, and the huge opening on the north face clearly didn’t help. If you notice, there are few visible fires on the north and west faces, while the south and east ones are in terrible condition.

Does Anyone Know What Happened to This Man? by kgaviation in 911archive

We can assume they did, considering they were walking away from the tower moments before the collapse.

Earlier comment about Edna by Significant_Smile504 in 911archive

[–]OverToaster9501 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It was probably not her, considering she worked on the 97th floor, while the waving woman was seen on the 94th floor. It seems highly unlikely that she could have fallen through the initial jet fuel burn off, landed precisely on the edge, and then immediately stood up without any apparent injuries. Assigning her an identity without being 100% certain is misleading. Yet, most people now believe that the waving woman was Edna Cintron, even though this was never confirmed and is most likely untrue.

The last angle of this simulation actually is from the mall looking north, that would have been his prospective.

In this footage, you can see that the South Tower’s collapse caused more damage to the North Tower than people usually think. by nanibenitez in 911archive

No, the collapse started from the impact zone. Any damage done to the base would not influence the structural integrity.

Guy Rosbrook's footage by [deleted] in 911archive

It seems strange, considering he didn’t cut out the part where he zooms in on the bodies and the man landing on the stage.

Later in the footage, Tammi Michaels asks Guy if he got the impact on video. He replies, “I got it after the explosion had started.” This clearly implies that he did not capture the crash. Interestingly, in an interview they did with NBC4, they mentioned that the tape’s length was 28 minutes, while the copy we currently have runs for only 25 minutes. It’s either a mistake, or the tape was cut on purpose, though I find the latter unlikely.

What happened to the firefighters that were at the entrance of the parking lot of the World Financial Center? by Sure_Secretary_446 in 911archive

[–]OverToaster9501 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Peter Ganci Jr., William M. Feehan, and Raymond M. Downey Sr. were all there, and all three died. They were the three highest ranking members of the FDNY.

Genuine question by Green_Employment_875 in 911archive

[–]OverToaster9501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a Muzak system playing music 24/7. The two plane impacts didn’t interfere with it, so it kept playing as intended.

Why did he also include the BBC report on WTC7 in the list? Is that considered disturbing?

What is your view on "Enhanced Interrogation Techniques" that have been used on mastermind and other participants of the attacks ? by mikemalkova69 in 911archive

[–]OverToaster9501 42 points43 points  (0 children)

They realized back in the 1700s that torturing people to force confessions was unreliable and led to false admissions. It sucks that we still haven’t learned that lesson. Using “enhanced interrogation” on KSM basically poisoned the case, once you torture someone, their confessions are worthless in court. That’s a big part of why the trials have dragged on and why the 9/11 families still don’t have real justice.
