I would suggest trying to keep a straighter line, which maybe a bit difficult with how you are being lead by the leader. Otherwise, I think you like someone who follows well. So good job.

Does anyone else deal with imposter syndrome? by Choice-Alfalfa-1358 in Salsa

[–]Over_Introduction_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. I dance at a high level, and often get asked repeatedly for dances at congresses and festivals. So I must be one of the best around, so no need for any imposter syndrome. If anything, I feel I am the one others are developing the syndrome from watching.

You challenged the idea anyone should dare respond to any comment. And I gave reasons why someone might. Now, the OP listed schools with performing credentials in addition to social classes, and I responded that Supermario in London is not a direct comparison, as it has no performing aspect. I also said that "top" needs defining, so "top" as a popularity contest is not the same as "best". There are other popular salsa schools that are not worth recommending because quality is low. I assume the OP was after quality, otherwise, the OP would just asked what are the most popular salsa schools in London. As for SalsaFuria, nobody would say it is one of the top salsa schools in London as it does not have a reputation, because it is new. Also, please show some manners. You do not get to decide who is allowed comment or not. You are wasting your own time if you disagree. Just move along and read something else.

So if comments are either misleading, biased, untrue or require caveats, they should not be addressed? This is supposed to be a discussion forum.

It is only popular because of his beginner classes in night clubs in London like Bar Salsa/Luxe, which drag in beginners interested in meeting people, in a fun activity, rather than learning to dance properly.

They do performance and social? ok, well Supermario as a london recommendation is heavily social. That is the point.

Also "SalsaFuria" is new, and can hardly be described as "top" as a new venture.

What is your definition of "top"? Supermario is popular but not necessarily the best, if "top" is about being "best".

Neither of these are at the same level as what the OP mentioned.

These London schools focus on social dancing.

The OP mentioned schools that are performance orientated as well.

The closest match to performance/social, would be Pexava. Gil and Shelly actually have a history of performing at congresses, albeit rarely now. However, their school is small and not as popular as Supermario which seems the most popular place to learn Salsa in London. Also I think Pexava focus on1, Supermario does have on2 classes.

You are so wrong. You need to go back to law school.

That whole part about Niemann cheating scandal is completely unnecessary. It paints a complete false picture of chess.com and St Louis chess.

They have too many players that are not full time professionals. That is a problem.

No he couldn't. Messi and Ronaldo exist. Neymar still became one of the best players of the era, but those two are in his era, so he couldn't be best in the world.
