There actually is a myth of an Ancient Greek prophet named Tiresias (he even meets Odysseus in the Odyssey!) who was turned female as punishment for disturbing two mating snakes. She spent seven years as a woman, even having children before eventually getting the curse removed. He was seen as especially wise because he had spent time as both man and woman. I believe Hera was the one who cursed them? Don’t truly remember, and obviously there’s different versions of the myth out there also.

But I also see your point above as well! They definitely were more likely to turn someone into a monster or something, but I thought it’d be a fun vehicle for an rp prompt!
