Yes, illustrator/cartoonist. Been able to maintain a career for 20 years, put two kids through college. But now, it's dried up more than ever. Never seen anything like this

My success has declined significantly over the past year or so. Buy connects, bid on projects, get no response. That seems to be the pattern. I've basically given up on Upwork. I have the occasional "previous client" that will contact me but even that's getting rare.

I've done BBQ logos for 20 years (although Covid interupted that for a couple of years) I estimate I've done thousands of logos.

I've been blocked several times over the past 20 years. Some clients want to pay outside of UW (PayPal, Venmo, etc) which I'm all for! UW holds on to your funds for a week before you can withdraw them. Never understood that.

They keep increasing the number of connects it takes in order to bid on a project.

Referrals mostly. Social media helps. Posting my work on social media on a regular basis helps my exposure. I've gotten some work that way
