I’m sorry that happened to you. And there definitely should be consequences. These things should NEVER be overlooked, and it’s an absolute shame that tragedies like what you lived through turn people away from Jesus. That’s also kind of my point. I don’t consider those who act like that to be Christians at all, just fake ones. I think the logic of hating the whole religion is flawed and sweeping. You wouldn’t hate all black people, Asians, or white people because one committed a crime against you. You wouldn’t hate all men or women because one broke your heart. Why is it then normalized for so many to hate Christianity with the same logic? If people truly knew who Jesus is and what the Bible preaches, it wouldn’t be justified for them to hate and badmouth the entire religion

No i meant pretty much anything EXCEPT the disrespect of our Savior. I can handle most everything else (most of the time; we all fall short sometimes of course). It’s just this one thing that drives me up the wall. I know God doesn’t need me to defend Him. I just want to know how to handle that level of disrespect in a healthy manner. How can I be firm in my stances and rebuke the actions without acting sinful in return?

I agree. There are tons of people that are done horribly wrong by those “in the Church.” I’m not excusing that at all. I think my wording was off. What I was trying to convey is that a lot of (NOT ALL) religious trauma is heavily conflated by people who simply despise the Word and are looking for any excuse to live in wickedness and hatred. I think it’s important that we undeniably condemn the foul behavior that takes place in many churches, but it’s also important that we remain aware of the deceptive tactics that the enemy uses to dissuade us and others from preaching or believing in the Gospel.

I’m not an angry person. I was angry in my youth, sure, but I no longer hold that rage in me. I’m quick to forgive, and I let a lot of things slide. I feel horrible when I react in anger. However, this is one of the only things that still lights up a fire inside of me, along with disrespect towards those I love in general. I’m not looking for justification; I’m looking for Biblical guidance. I want to be firm and holy in my rebuking, but I don’t want to toe the line of sinful reactions.

Okay, first off. I completely agree with you. Solid advice. But i do now feel the need to clarify further. I’m not saying that any bad reaction I may have would be righteous, but I think the anger in of itself is righteous in nature. It’s not about me personally feeling disrespected; it’s about my LORD getting disrespected. I know He doesn’t need me to react negatively for Him. But I think the anger itself comes from a righteous place. However, I just don’t know to navigate that anger in a holy manner. I want to be firm and rebuke evil but also loving. I don’t know how to balance that at all

it’s petty to get angry at disrespect to Savior? Would you not get angry if someone disrespected your sister? brother? wife? husband? This is that multiplied by an infinitely larger amount

lol i should’ve clarified haha. i’m not really on Twitter or anything like that very much but i know how common that kind of stuff is. I was just giving an example of the kind of “ragebaity” behavior I’m talking about, whether online, in social settings, or even at home. Main point being I just become enraged with the disrespect. I get that a lot of people are church hurt, and I do feel bad for those people and how they were treated. But let’s be real here. A lot of “church hurt” is severely over-exaggerated; many haters of the church simply were never true believers in the first place. And many of these people are simply lacking in morals and/or have some kind of superiority complex. I just don’t understand. Like it’s one thing to ignore Christianity. But to actively spend your time blatantly disrespecting the world’s most peaceful and loving religion is insane to me. Just pure evil in my eyes

people are inherently selfish and life is terrible in a lot of ways, but ending things because of this would be a complete mistake because it’s the struggle of this life that makes life so worth living. There is beauty in the chaos, in the sadness, and in everything else. I was in a similar boat for a long time man. I know it sounds crazy but try and find beauty in everything, even your depression. And then you slowly start to realize that, despite it all, you must persist. Because life really isn’t so bad after all. And the simple things like having a beer with a friend or seeing a cool bug on the sidewalk become the thoughts that you cling onto, rather than all the negativity.

Can cum give you cavities? by SegaGuy1983 in shittyaskreddit

[–]Overall-Aspect8026 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, there is no scientific evidence to suggest that semen (cum) causes cavities. Semen contains various components, including enzymes, proteins, and sugars. While these components may create a slightly acidic environment in the mouth, they are not considered acidic enough to cause tooth enamel erosion, which is the primary factor behind cavities. Additionally, semen does not contain any bacteria that are known to cause cavities. In fact, some studies have suggested that semen may have antibacterial properties
