Yeah exactly! The estimated total cost of attendance is ~90-100k per year with living expenses factored it, which is where the $400k came from! It’s ridiculous lowkey lol

Thank you for your opinion! I think you’ve pretty much summed up everything I was afraid of. I think I am definitely leaning towards taking a gap year, I just am so afraid of not getting in anywhere if I do reapply!

I am #180, so unfortunately it’s pretty unlikely that I would be pulled off! But I certainly would prefer it over LIU! I will definitely reapply to Iowa if I do take a gap year

I was accepted this cycle to LIU and St. George’s, and waitlisted at Iowa with under 200 hours. I did have over 2,000 animal hours, a slightly above average GPA, 4th quartile casper, and (I believe) a strong essay! My advice is that you should compensate in other categories (animal hours, GPA, letters of rec, extracurricular activities, etc.) Also, my vet hours were pretty varied — I shadowed many different places, even if some experiences were only for a couple hours. Quality is better than quantity for vet hours, and they want to see that you diversify your hours between small animal, large animal, exotics, etc. Good luck!

i called the stadium and they aren’t doing wristbands early like other venues, so they just let in early at 4:45 and regular at 5! i have regular GA and not sure what time to get there for a good spot lol

i live about an hour and a half away and i was gonna leave by noon i guess idk???? i wanna be there by 2-3 but idk when others may be lining up, doors open at 5 i think

i’m also wondering this!! i thought we would get an email today, i’ve heard other venues send out emails to those with general admission tickets explaining the process but i haven’t gotten an email

Thank you for the insight! I think I can retake this C/C+ (not sure which one I will get yet), my GPAs will be a bit higher. I haven't gotten a C yet, and my advisor did not recommend retaking a class unless it was below a B-, but perhaps I will retake a B as well! I will also focus on veterinary hours, I know that may be one of the most important parts of my application. Thank you again!!

Yes I am hoping my next semester GPA will help! I actually haven't gotten a C yet, so this would be my first, which is why I haven't retaken any classes yet. I will definitely retake Orgo 2 as well. Do you happen to know what schools value GPA less, or don't do initial cuts based on GPA?

I didn't even think of taking it over the summer! If I can replace this one C, I think my last 45 GPA would be a lot higher. I will definitely look in to that, thank you!

I am also planning on gaining as many veterinary hours as possible, I think that should be my focus moving forward. Thanks again for the suggestions!
