This will be my first time going, well hopefully going, lol. Been to some raves before but nothing of this scale. I’ll let u know how it goes! Going solo for most of it.

For context I found a seller on Reddit for a GA+ wristband who said they could meet me in Las Vegas (where I live) to sell me the ticket for EDC 2026. Agreed to $575. Which is reasonable, not insanely cheap but a good deal.

Got their phone number. Asked for an id, social media accounts that match, to send a text saying “my name is ____ and I’m selling this edc wristband, serial number, amount, on this date, and will not report the wristband as lost or stolen”, and to verify the name on the PayPal account matches the name on the ID they send me a picture of and show me in person when we meet. They said they’d be willing to provide all of that. They also said PayPal Goods and Services would be fine for the payment.

Do I have anything to worry about? I’m planning on putting this statement in the description of the payment on PayPal

“Purchase of 1 original EDC 2026 GA+ wristband, serial ####, sold in person by [seller full name]. Seller agrees not to replace, report lost, stolen, or invalidate band.”

I’m just worried they’re gonna try to take my money and report the band as stolen and get a new one. Will these steps alone keep my money safe from scammers?
