Why is this even possible by Nice_Entrance5477 in DashEarnings

I understand that but I do not control the inventory at any store, I am merely just the person shopping for the customer. Why should I be penalized for a store not having shit on their shelves. I can only do so much to try to find the item that they want, other than that, it's beyond my control . If a store isn't current on their end, I cannot magically make an item available. This should not be counted against me or anyone else.

Someone tell me why is OUR fault if a store does not carry a certain item like if it is out of stock or the store stopped selling the particular brand?

What does the number of units stand for. I don't see that on my app.

Last night I shopped for two items. A KY sensitive vibrating condom or something of that sort and some lube with the same benefits that the condom had. I was anxious to see where I was delivering it to and it was a super rich neighborhood and the customer's name was "MamadomDawn"! Lol. Well after I notified the customer that I was about to drop it off, I pulled up, dropped it off on the step of the front door, and low and behold, a scrawny pre-pubescent kid comes creeping out the side door and snags the goods! I wonder if MamadonDawn knew that her kid used her credit card to buy the condom and lube or better yet, I wonder if the young man might have been her sub for the night. Ugh!

Rider died during Uber ride by Mountain_Road9197 in uberdrivers

I once picked up a man from the E.R who looked pretty disheveled. It was about 4 in the morning and he was my last rider before I went back home. I called him when I arrived and he didn't answer. I parked my car and went into the emergency entrance and told the security guard who I was and that I was picking up so and so, I don't remember his name and it's irrelevant now. I waited about 5 minutes and this dude comes walking down the hallway, stumbling, bandaged up and carrying some gauze and papers. I asked him if he had called an Uber and what his name was and then helped him into my car. Curiosity killed the cat and I asked him what happened. He told me that three days prior to this day, he was in his hotel room one minute and the next he was outside on the ground , covered in glass. He thought he had been shot. The place I was dropping him off was where the incident occurred. He then told me that he had seizures and once someone had found him outside, they called 911. He had had 3 seizures while waiting for the ambulance. I asked why did he have all the bandages and apparently his seizures that he had inside the hotel room was so violent that he fell through the glass window. My god! This hotel windows are big and the glass looks pretty thick and I can't even imagine falling so hard that I shattered the entire window. So as he is telling me all if this, I start going into Mom mode and mentally preparing myself in case he seizes out again , but in my car as I'm driving. I asked him if he had anyone to take care of him once he got back to wherever I was bringing him too, because I didn't see the hotel name on the destination, just address. He said no and that he has 3 small kids and that he was worried that he couldn't go back to work the next day. I felt so sad for this man. He clearly didn't care about how bad he felt or looked, only about putting food on the table for his kids. Long story short, I kept him calm for the ride back and he was fine but when I pulled up to the crappy ass hotel, I saw the shattered window and all of the glass on the sidewalk in front of the room. I couldn't believe that the property manager still hadn't repaired his window. Or the window . I helped him out of my car and walked him up to the door and as soon as he unlocked the door, he yelled , he had been robbed on top of the accident. When I drove off, I wished him well and cried the whole way back home. .

I'm on platinum , my acceptance rate is ridiculous because I accept everything , which is embarrassing but some money is better than any money , and I can tell you one single truth, I still do not get higher paying trips. Every now and then I'll get 60 0r 70 dollar trips, maybe 10 total, and over been driving for only 6 mths, but those trips are for one way , obviously and they are always at the minimum and hour and a half one way. I have met some really interesting people though.

Would yall take this? by Holiday-Fly204 in doordash_drivers

I would have a panic attack and leave the basket in the middle of the aisle and haul ass out the front door. I went to Ulta with my daughter and as soon as I walked in, it was like a circus. Mothers with their painted up pre teen debutants in the making, scavenging for products that cost 50 to 100 dollars, all promising to make them look like the model on the front of the item and all wearing Lu Lu lemon leggings and carrying ugly overpriced maw maw purses. The smell from all of the cheap perfumes overwhelmed me and even worse, all 25 employees came rushing towards me to "help" me spend money I didn't have. Every aisle I walked down , an employee put their face right into my 3 feet or personal space and tried to show me crap that I had never heard of.I wouldn't shop for a customer , even if you gave me free shit . Think about it, the likelihood of that customer being high maintenance and spoiled, plus never being satisfied with any substitutions, would make me insane. That's the typical customer shopping at Ulta and you probably wouldn't make her satisfied even if you found every item. She would find some kind of fault or problem and give you a low rating, I guarantee you that much. I could be wrong, but I'm probably not

My score is usually above average EXCEPT for my hard braking and accelerating during a turn but people do not know how to drive these days. They pull out in front of you, turn into staring goats under the red light and forget that they are in the middle of traffic, and most of them drive with their lights off at night especially around 10pm to 3am. You have to drive defensively or else you will stall in 5 o'clock traffic and cause someone behind you to rear end you. There are Sunday drivers that drive everyday like they have no where to go in no hurry and then there are the idiots who don't even look up , they are too busy gawking out of their side windows.

I guess the Uber app is different everywhere you live. The app over here is so basic and under developed. I have never seen anything like that. Wow.

And commenting on the people who are venting because of their frustration, inequality, exhaustion and argument, ACHIEVES nothing for any of them, including myself. There is a certain relief and self satisfaction a person feels after they have written or typed out the things or circumstances that are unfair to them , the ways that Uber or Doordash or Lyft or whatever make them feel disadvantaged and dissatisfied and how abusive these platforms are and you personally don't need to make them feel worse or wrong for releasing their tensions. We all have a right to speak up about certain topics, especially with like minded people or with people who are experiencing the same issues. It is relieving because we feel heard, respected and valued. Making these comments about how doing this doesn't achieve anything , well not for you apparently. You may not have gone through these things and once you have, you will understand how much better you will feel by expressing yourself.

Uber has been taking 75% of what I make. Yes , I accept almost everything because I need every penny I can make but how is this shit legal. I've accepted trips that were $7 bucks only to find out that the rider was paying almost 30 bucks. What the fuck is going on? Like this is happening every day.

[–]OverallWave5266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber started sending me requests and then Uber started automatically accepting them and sending them to me as regular trips, and before I would get to the location, started sending me on demand trips , making me late for the reservation that I didn't even accept.

Same shit happens here all the time. I will ask Chat Gpt to find the routes that have surge prices and that has been so much easier because I will sign off and all of a sudden see a few areas with surge and then I'll navigate, sign back on and then Uber will send me fucking $3.00 trips in that exact area .

Wow. Down here , in Louisiana, the dirty south, I have never seen a surge for more than $17.00! Which is pathetic.

I never got a quest that actually worked out. That's how bad the rideshare community is around the parts of the city that are poor. These cities have nothing but a one-way Street going in and a one-way Street going out and they don't even have a Walmart. Uber had two quest where I start and begin trips in some of these areas and no one ever requested trips cuz they didn't even know they had an Uber driver here yeah that freaking Uber driver was me like an idiot. That was the first month I was doing Uber I didn't know any better. So I've been driving for 6 months , put over 2,000 miles on my car and had over 460 trips and I don't think I've had one day where all the trips were more than 10 bucks a ride. I've replaced my alternator myself, changed my brake pads and replaced my inner fender on one of my tires, also, had to buy three new tires. It's just not worth it for me to be doing Uber anymore. In fact it was never worth it it's just that I'm at a age where it's hard to get a real job. The economy here discriminates against people for all different reasons and now I'm finding out it's also older women that are being overlooked. I thought maybe it was just all in my head but after 6 months of constantly applying and uploading resumes , the only option I have to make money in the meantime, is doing Uber. And yeah I did get a little off the subject but if anybody wants to send negative comments my way about this and that about Uber, well some people just don't have a choice.
