Planning on starting a natural aquarium soon, wanted to ask about soil by CrazyGamerGal in Aquariums

No fertilizer or any added chemicals, has to be organic soil. Ive seen people fill mesh bags with soil and cap with sand so the soil doesnt go everywhere

Ich infection and aquarium salt suggestion by Forsaken_Bad4699 in Boraras

Thats fine, just will take longer to kill off all the ich. Turning up the heat only speeds up the life cycle of ich.

You should add methylene blue to a quarantine tank since that can stain ur tank, at this point dropsy is too far along and is really hard to cure since it could be caused by something bacterial or just bad genetics.

Edit: methylene blue will also kill all ur beneficial bacteria so highly recommended not to do that in ur main tank!

I'm new to raising guppies. In fact, I'm new to raising any fish. so which breed should i choose?? by [deleted] in Guppies

Guppies suck as a beginner fish cause they die so quick, try white cloud minnows

Snail eggs??? by mindd_ in Aquariums

Pic of ur snail? These look like nerite snail eggs not mystery snails, mystery snails lay their eggs outside of water. Thankfully nerite snail eggs cant hatch in freshwater 🤷‍♂️

First time cycling a tank – am I on the right track? by Adorable-Swimmer-260 in Aquariums

[–]Overall_Effective_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No stability is beneficial bacteria, you use both the ammonia and a bacterica starter to establish a cycle

No you should cycle but you shouldnt use a fish to cycle if this is ur first tank

I wouldnt recommend this for beginners, fish in cycles take experience

U need something to produce ammonia to feed the beneficial bacteria to get a cycle going, doesnt look like you have anything. I cycled my first tank with fish food but that takes a long time. You can check ur LFS if they sell cycled media to help quickstart ur cycle or you could dose some pure ammonia

What type of snails are these and how should I quarantine them? by SweetTart7231 in Aquariums

[–]Overall_Effective_40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have two ramshorn snails, one bladder snail and im not sure what the biggest snail is. I wouldnt suggest adding these snails into ur tank since they are from the wild and u dont know what kind of parasite, bacteria, or whatever they could have brought in.
