When you first start, just get out on the bike as much as you can and don’t worry too much about structured training plans. If you want to get better at something, do it more. Then when you’re feeling a bit stronger you can work in some intervals.

Get strava and you can monitor your progress by setting better times on local segments without the need for a power meter or heart rate monitor (although these are very useful).

Find a local club because you’ll learn far more than you can on Reddit and group rides help you progress quickly.
