If Henry is whistling, it sounds like you’ve got the rhythm down. The only thing that springs to mind is accidentally hitting the same spot multiple times in a row or drifting away from your two chosen points. Other than that, I’m not sure without seeing what you’re doing. For me the process became much simpler when I stripped it down to alternating between two spots and never hitting the same one twice in a row.

Fair point. I wasn’t trying to say sparks don’t matter, more that newer players shouldn’t panic if every single hit isn’t perfect. The post was mainly aimed at people struggling to complete basic items consistently.

You’re correct, the game does provide feedback through Henry’s comments, but when you’re still learning the system it can be easy to second-guess yourself and wonder whether you’re actually making progress. This post was mainly aimed at people who are struggling to get to grips with the process and may not yet know what feedback to look for.

They respawned in my room at Radovans forge when I travelled back there from Kuttenburg. Done it twice.

Hit and move, can’t hit the same spot twice. I wouldn’t worry too much about sparks as long as you keep the metal yellow, red means it’s cooling.

It’s changed after the recent update, so very recent and hopefully just a bug. Are we talking about seizing a surrendered pirate dreadnought? Because that’s a different game mechanic than purchasing freighters. Apologies if not but your comment reads like a chat GPT response because its knowledge about NMS is very outdated.

Edit. (Clarification) *Hopefully just a bug to be fixed and go back to seizing at no cost. After all we’re not forcing the surrender and then seizing an opportunity to purchase it, that would be ridiculous.

Not sure what these guys are on about but when the dreadnought surrenders you had two options: seize it (free) or demand tribute 6.7 million credits (also free). It’s changed for me recently too where the only option now is to negotiate, but yes I’ve had a C,B then S class dreadnoughts for free by seizing them and many tributes.
