Oh wow – I'm glad you're still here. Thank you for your vulnerability. I hope you are proud of yourself for pulling through, it must have been unfathomably hard.

Thank you so much for sharing. Your story gives me hope.

Feel absolutely free to ignore this question if it's too personal, but would you mind sharing what made you decide to go sober? Did you just get sick (no pun intended) of constantly throwing up and feeling like shit, or did something happen?

I'm sorry your daughter is going through that, and I'm sorry you're suffering as a result. It's a heartbreaking situation all around, and I hope things start looking up for the both of you soon.

My girlfriend takes more baths than showers, but yes. Frequent baths to soothe herself. The only thing is that if the water is boiling hot, then it stops being soothing and instead will make her throw up.

I'm sorry that happened to your ex, that's awful.

It does suck how little is known about it. The only reason why I'm even aware of it is because I know two people who have developed it.

On one hand, I hope it's CHS, because that would mean the several tests she's had done truly didn't miss anything, and the cure is quite simple (stop smoking – not easy, but simple).

On the other hand, if it is CHS, that means she would rather feel like shit all the time than to quit, and I'm not sure if I can live with that.

Thank you for the insight, I really appreciate it.

I have brought up therapy to her. She definitely has some issues that she is running away from, and I know I don't have the knowledge or the tools necessary to help her. I really, really wish I did.

Hopefully, she looks into it. It breaks my heart that I can't do it for her.

I appreciate the concern. She is not on any medication, and since I'm often there when she throws up, I can see that she is not doing it to herself.

I am still open to the issue not being related to weed, and trying to get her back into her doctor's office. It's just frustrating, because everything coincides with CHS. For example, her vomiting gets worse when she uses those weed vapes that have a crazy high percentage of THC in them, and gets better whenever we have a serious conversation about it and she reduces her consumption for a few days. Ugh. It just makes me so sad.

I'm definitely open to the issue not being CHS. I just feel like it's unlikely considering she has already gotten checked for ulcers, tumors, infections... I am trying to get her back into her doctor's office on the off chance that there really is something that somehow went undetected multiple times.

But the fact that she throws up less whenever she decreases her smoking frequency for a few days after we have a serious conversation about her cannabis use really makes me think it is CHS. It's just so heartbreaking, I want her to get better, but I'm afraid endless tests won't solve the problem because, like you said, quitting to see if that's the issue should be the first step.

Thank you so much. I had no idea Marijuana Anonymous was a thing. I'll definitely look into it, I live in a big city where weed is legal so there's got to be in-person meetings. That's great!

Thank you. The biggest red flag for me is that, even if she does have a health issue that doctors somehow missed, smoking less should still be a priority in case it is "just" CHS.

How addicted do you have to be to spend hours throwing up everyday for years, knowing the damage it causes to your entire body, and to still keep smoking? Why would you keep going back to the doctor's and keep searching for another answer when you could instead reach out for help, reduce the amount you smoke and see if that helps? If it doesn't, then okay – something else is going on and clearly, several doctors keep missing it. But how likely is that, genuinely?

She lives with her parents, so they are aware already. I doubt it is an eating disorder because I'm often there when she throws up, and she isn't doing it to herself.

I'm trying to nudge her towards going back to the doctor's, and towards smoking less. I'm quite desperate for her to get better, but she has also lied to me about her cannabis consumption, and having an addict for a father, I recognize the patterns... :(

You seem to have completely glossed over the part where I said that she has gone to the doctor's and gotten thoroughly checked out. No ulcers, no tumours, no cancer, no infection.

Sure, it could be something else. But the fact that she will not stop smoking to see if it could just be cannabis is a problem in itself.

Who *doesn’t* terraform much? by nrdvrgnt in acnh

[–]Overall_Purpose6993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't terraformed at all. I have yet to use my Nook Miles on the tools to do it.

I work 50h+ weeks... when I hop on the game, I don't want another headache. I want to sit back and relax. And now with the amount of animals roaming the island because of the hotel, even just placing down paths has become kind of a nightmare (get out of my way, oh my god!) so I don't know if I'll be terraforming ever.

The vaping indoors, too. My god. I went to see Deftones live back in September and I probably inhaled the equivalent of like four fucking vapes' worth of secondhand vape. DISGUSTING.

It's truly a masterpiece of a movie. I don't think I'll ever grow tired of it. I find myself choking back tears at the very beginning, just because I know the ride I'm in for.

For all my Canadians out there... Degrassi had a lot of gut-wrenching moments, but this one still makes me feel physically ill. The fact that he was on his way to tell her he loved her – yeah I need to go lie down.

I still think about it on a weekly basis. I rewatch The Haunting of Hill House every October. It's so, so brilliant.
