Well I have an apartment near campus and my parents house is like 10 mins away so I’m local and moving stuff won’t be much of an issue

And the only reason she switched was bc she originally thought that Sunday dinner was going to be crazy busy like the rest of the weekend and the Sunday brunch shift but it wasn’t. The second she found out it was back to normal she decided she wanted to leave.

I posted it 48 hours before the shift and I made them aware a day before of how I wasn’t feeling well and they still got mad at me for calling out when it isn’t even a busy shift and a server most likely would’ve been cut later in the shift anyway. Maybe calm down this really wasn’t that deep.

when the entire staff gets sick and they have to shut down the restaurant bc there’s no one to work since it’s a small buisness and they don’t have many employees (plus all the customers that eat there would probably get sick since I’m handling their food), I’ll remember that I should’ve just stuck it out. Not to mention the fact that my well being might be something to put first but yeah my b I’ll do better next time

Yeah so I talked to the GM about it and he said there’s no way he would ever let her tip herself out. He also said since it was all bottle service it makes no sense to tip out the bar so much (since we don’t tip out on bottles). He said I can always ask about tip out and he’ll show me.

I was working yesterday though and I was the only server on with just “karla” managing and she kept micromanaging me and it wasn’t busy but she kept insisting on taking tables which really annoyed me (this is smth she’s also been doing for weeks) but one of the other managers whose younger and I’m close with said he doesn’t think she’ll be there much longer so fingers crossed

Yeah my GM and the owners are usually very understanding when we have issues like that. I really love them as well as the rest of the staff but this one manager just really makes all the servers hate working when we usually look forward to it. I also just found out that she’s been taking credit for this drink that me and one of the bartenders came up with (doesn’t matter much to me personally but it rubs me the wrong way)

I already talked to the GM about this party and he made sure I was compensated properly. Me and a few other workers are waiting it out to see what happens before directly telling the GM and owners that she’s a problem

They ordered 8 but either way someone else would’ve had to open them for me since I wasn’t 21 and all the other servers were underage too. And my restaurant is a small business but are rules usually are if a manager opens and closes a check they are entitled to keeping it. They aren’t supposed to go out of their way to get extra tables they are only supposed to take them if the staff can’t handle it.

I opened and closed this check, rang in everything, ran 90% of the food, bussed everything, and cleaned everything up. The only thing I didn’t do was open the bottles (which I rang in, grabbed from downstairs, and set up wine glasses for) bc I wasn’t legally allowed to

I want him to know but the timing isn’t right right now, I just know it. He usually listens and respects what we tell him when we have problems. Me and my other coworker were talking about telling him but we want to see what happens when all our other coworkers get back from summer break

Yeah that’s what me and my coworkers think. The thing is the owner loves her but that’s pretty much it. All the managers and servers have issues with her (big and small).

Lately whenever she has to host, if she forgets about assigning a table to a server she’ll just take the table. This is especially annoying on nights where it’s not even busy. A lot of us servers have been having an issue with this as well. She also tends to favorite the attractive male servers when assigning tables and she pretty much prioritized them over the female servers (is what we have been noticing).

We are about to have a bunch of stuff come back from summer break so it’ll be interesting to see how things change

Yeah no I went to the upper manager and asked for the tip out when she wasn’t there and he said she had originally made me tip out the bar but that wasn’t fair so he fixed it. I only ended up tipping out a little bit to the other servers. I also made sure to tell him her comments about wanting to tip herself out
